roof rack that is, not cup size reduction as that is a totally different website!
i have been out of action for a while so forgive me while i try to get my hand back at this.
Well, the wife has agreed to open up the purse strings for some modding to begin!

one quick thing I would like to do is a roof rack removal. anyone every do this before? do I need to remove the headliner? is there a kit with hole fillers or am I on my own?

Any thoughts very much appreciated.

Easier than you think, I think its 5 or 6 torque screws each side. You can either find little caps that fit in the holes or do what I did, bring the screws to a hardware store and tell them you need that size screw but 1/4 the length. When I put the new screws in, I put a little bit of silicone in them.

Did mine. Dorman makes a plug I bought at oreilys 3 bucks for one package. May be worth painting them white for your truck, I only saw black. I read some on a thread about 2 different guys who had issues with putting silicone in screw holes. If you look at the close up you can see the plugs

I used the same thing, and put a little silicone under each cap for retention/water intrusion. Some guys took is a step further and put down strips of vinyl door trim along the whole roof line, hoeing out the spots where the screw caps protrude from the roof line. It looks pretty sharp and darn close to OEM, but not sure where you'd find white.

funny your trying to remove yours and want to add the esky to mine.

I would say if you do not plan on putting back on ever than take it to a paint and body shop and have them covered and painted.

I used set screws and silicone and then I used touch up paint to paint the nutserts that are showing. It doesnt look bad but I havent really tried to figure a way to make it look better. SORRY no pics.

I got the white trim off ebay but I dont like the fact that the ends werent going to be tapered so I never installed it.

Im about to do it on my 07 also but that one is black.

If you go with screws, they're 6mm on my truck...08 Suburban. Same plug size as mentioned above.

WHATEVER you do, don't show her this site. You will regret your honesty later.
