Door Moldings

[UGA Tahoe]

Just spent about 1 hour removing the door molding on the passenger side of the truck. Going to finish the other side over the weekend. Hopefully, on monday it is going to get a 3 stage buff job. Will definitely post pics when everything is done.

Also, can anyone tell me if the badges on the rear are just glued on. Want to remove them, but I heard one or both of them have holes underneath of them.

My 04 didn't have any holes behind the emblems.

I just took the mouldings off my doors too! Took me two seconds to get the mouldings off and 30 minutes per door for that god for saken double sided tape.

Anyways, I will be doing the badges next. To be honest I was just going to rip them off.

I've never heard of any holes be hind them. If your not sure look on the other side.

Thanks, I hope to finish the debadging sometime today. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get the truck buffed out tomorrow. Hopefully in a week or two. It is going to look amazing.

Alright, I have finally finished taking the side door moldings off and I also went ahead and debadged her. I did not take any pics yet because she is pretty dirty and it is going to rain for the next couple of days before I can give her a good wash.

Also, I have seen some people take there roof racks off. What did you do you keep it water tight? Did you use silicone on the bolts? Also, how flush do the bolts sit on the roof? Would it be better to get newer flatter head bolts?

They are the standard ones you see on any Tahoe around model year 05, as far as I know. Haven't ever seen any other ones. Even if your truck is the same color they still need to be repainted, just to let you know.

Thumbs + Goo Gone.
Or, the faster and much easier way is a 3M eraser wheel.

They have the chrome strip down the middle of them and rest of the molding is painted to match the vehicle.

Sellech,
The moldings themself were easy to remove, they just pealed off. I used a heat gun to remove the bulk of the glue. Then used some adhesive remover to rub on the glue residue and scrape it off with a credit card. It worked great, just takes awhile.
