It will only work in a 2001 - 2002 I believe

If its a 99 OBS SUV, then no it will not work. But it will work in a 99 NBS Silverado or Sierra. Will also work in all 00-02 NBS SUVs.

Is the mileage stored in the cluster or in a separate ecu in truck? Basically will my mileage xfer over? and how bad is install? That bezel pops off in secs lol

Your mileage will have to be programmed onto this cluster. The install is very simple remove the dash bezel which just snaps on and off and then there is 4 9/32 screws/bolts that hold your cluster in. Remove the 4 screws/bolts, unplug your cluster, plug in the new one, reinstall the 4 screws/bolts, snap back on the dash bezel. Done.
