Hey guys After a few days of reading the forums i would like to introduce myself, and not just linger around here, lol

Basically what i want to do is try to smoke some tires on my 24's is that possible ?

So What do i need to achieve this ?
Basically i want to get the best bang for my buck

this is what i currently have (not much but a good start i suppose)

Magnaflow Catback exhaust system
3.75 Gear ratio stock from the dealership

Things that i might buy in the future,

1.Cold Air Intake (can anyone recommend me some)?
I was thinking a AEM CAI - i heard threw the dealership that getting a wet CAI will damage your sensors etc.

2. Long tube headers (can anyone recommend me some)?

3. Chip was thinking of a Superchips Cortex™ Programmer

Will this help me out alot considerably ?

Thanks... Oh i found a new home :)

AEM brute force. Not sure on Headers. But SKIP THE CHIP. Just get a BB custom tune, AFTER all your bolt on mods. Biggest power increase before forced induction though would be a Cam.

welcome  Nice looking ride!

3.73's are nice, but 4.10's would help.
LPP headers, and a Black Bear tune.
AEM or choice of brand CAI.

I can roast my 24s along with a few performance cars:)
If you have the pcm retuned and remove the Torque Management, that will help a lot. Install longtube headers, intake, exhaust, higher stall converter and retune the pcm and you'll be able to smoke the tires a little easier. Cam and heads will make a huge difference and a power adder like n2o or a blower will definitely help you light the tires. And check your rpo codes to see what rearend gears you have. Deeper gears will definitely help.
BTW, welcome to the site:cheers:

Just a word of warning here. Your stock tranny cant handle much more power than stock.

It actually can, you just have to dial the line pressures in right to make it have a longer life.

Torque Management is more than just one thing (comes from multiple functions in the engine), so theoretically you can't get rid of 100%.

You guys need to remember the amount of weight that is going over the rear axle on these things. It is much easier to do in a truck as the bed is so light over those back tires. It is even worse with the 4X4s, due to the fact, that even when you are in 2WD there is still a small amount of power going to the differential, so you are never really in 2WD.

exactly..especially after you add in 250 lbs of stereo equipment and passangers since their weight is also over the axle..go throw 800 lbs in the rear of your bed and see how easily it spins them lol..i suppose they are better for hooking up once you do have the power though lol

I'd rather not spin my 20s let alone 24s. Tires are expensive as hell go buy some 16s if you like burnouts

I can spin in the yukon. Turn off TC pop it in R, floor it and spin city. Can get a mild chirp in drive, in the rain I get some spin. IN the silverado I get spin dry, and in wet weather get spin going from 30-50. If I start off wet in the silverado It spins even in second and I have to let off before it does a 180 on me.
