as of right now i have a 2010 tahoe. its on 285's (if that matters) i have already done an 18" magnaflow muffler and a k&n cold air intake. i did gain some power and it sounds great. but i want more power without ****** my wallet. i tow a 24' 5000lb trailer to the desert and would just like for it to be even easier. i have the 5.3 liter.

Higher stall Torque Converter? I dont know if anybody has done it on the SUV, I have done it in other cars. I dont know about higher ratio gears - Have not seen the rear end inside yet.

Not a lot you can do with this engine. Supercharge it.

thought about that but how much will i actually gain?

Do some reading on this forum and you'll find your answer. A ton of people on this forum have gone with a BlackBear Tune (a vendor of TYF) and been extremely happy with the outcome!

my vote would be get the tune but re-gearing is a must other wise it will always be a dog. unless you get to like 500hp on the ground or something crazy.

Have you thought about a cam and headers? A different TC and gears would help with your towing.

Any mod you do will not be cheap. ;) A cam is relatively cheap but if you do not know how to install it the labor on that will get ya. But you will get a nice gain in hp. I would do a mild cam, intake, exhaust, and a tune. That alone I would assume would get you atleast 50rwhp and do atleast $2K damage to your wallet. :D

i already have an intake and exhaust. so looks like my best bet is a tune, and then a cam if im still not happy.

Seriously do gears and a tune. I had a 99 f150 on 38/14.50/16 with 4.88 gears and a 4.6 liter v8 it towed 10 times better than m.y 03 dodge 2500 hemi on 35's. Tune and gears!! Gears wont be cheap but it will do way more than a cam.
