I bought my 2025 Z71 Tahoe with full Z71 package on June 04. I have about 1000 miles on it now. I traded in my 2017 LTZ. This is my observation of things I like/don't like and a bit of comparison between the two.
First...I really like the 2025. There are some things I miss in comparison to the 2017. I miss turn signals in the mirrors, air-conditioned seats here in Texas summer, the wider running boards as hard to get out on the new ones, the deeper storage area in the back, and the deeper center console. All kind of nitpicky except the mirrors and the seats.
Both Tahoe's have the 5.3. The gas mileage on the new one is at least 20% less efficient. It was normal on the 2017 to get 22-25 mpg on the highway running 65-75. On the 2025 17-18 seems to be the norm and it holds about 4-5 gallons less fuel. Range is compromised as a result. I attribute most of the mileage difference to the 10v6 speed transmission.
The 2025 has the 10 speed vs the 6 speed in the 2017. The 2017 shifted smoothly without notice. The 2025 shifts like a tractor or my motorcycle. It's very pronounced and sometimes quite rough. The 2025 tows my boat much easier with the shorter gears vs the long gears in the 2017. I like that the 2025 knows when I have a trailer attached and I don't have to punch any buttons for towing like on the 2017
The 2025 seats seem to be more durable than the leather on the 2017. They are also shorter in the leg area which I don't care for.
I absolutely love the adaptive cruise. If at 30mph or better, I turn it on. It is a real safety game changer.
I have no idea why every time I start it, the windshield wipers make one pass.
All in all I really like the 2025, but if given a choice to have a new one of the 17 vs 25....It would be a tough choice.
