Why dont people just use flex a lite and things like that? Can I just buy a dual fan setup and do it that way?

One word reliabilty. Since I have put about $900 into my fan upgrade I feel like talking. U already have the tune so u can get OEM fans for like $150 on rockauto and a harness from BB and your done. Provided you have the larger radiator. 34" inside the reservoir tanks or 38" overall. That and I hate to see someone else get ripped off buying junkyard fans for $250 like I did!

My sig tells the story as I had to buy a new Pcm and for mine but I have the only freak truck on the forum with a fan control issue. Only seems to affect Nbs 2000 models if that makes you feel better. We'll see when I get it back from BB.

Has anybody used the Depo Fans they sell on ebay? I looked up rockauto.com and they sell TYC direct replacement. I am wondering if there is any advantage of buying a used set from GM in a junkyard or a new assembly from one of the companies?

I was advised to stay away from aftermarket/tyc. They have the dorman/factory setup on rockauto. You may have to look at the nnbs style trucks to find them. Same setup just more curve in the blades.

Do a search on rockauto for Part # 620654. This will get you the factory setup BNIB under $150, not junkyard pull outs. I can sell you mine from an 05 Kon and buy these if it makes you feel better lol.

unknown at this time.
Flex-a-lite and be done with it or leave it alone. If it cost less $550 a lot more people would be grabbing them up faster. I will definitely be doing it but I among others here don't always have $550 in one shot. It is also not an often thought of upgrade because people don't realize better upgraded fans are out the there especially since it is covered from site normally and it sounds in sync with engine. It just does not get noticed all that much. Flex-a-lites will always be around but there are some upgrades I want that will be harder to find in time. But it will be done.

Yeah. They'll plug right up to the fans. The tricky part is tapping the right green ac wire (see green wire coming from your compressor for color reference.). You tap the wire next to the alternator. You will need to get a wire tap from radio shack as they don't come with the harness. The blue wire plugs into your PCM on pin 42.

great info here I will be ordering my fans this week or next. I found a dorman part #620654 for 09 Chevy 1500 truck for $147. Is this part # confirmed to bolt up as the factory 05-06 yukon/tahoes?
