Hi guys,
I have been seeing a lot of posts regarding spindles and kits...
Im not too familier with what the "3/4" and all those numbers mean...
I have 26's on my tahoe, I just want to get rid of some of the fender gap... I see the prices for the spindles and kits, and they are over my budget...
I am thinking about getting some lowering springs, I see some that lower the front 1 to 2 inches in the front and 3 to 4 inches in the rear..
what do yo think about the lowering springs?
Thanks!

Been there done that. Get drop spindles in the front worth 2" of drop. Then rear 4" drop springs. This will give you a 2/4 drop. If you try to drop down 2" in the front off the Belltech struts it may not ride so good.
If $ is an issue then save up for a bit. If you do it right you will only have to do it once, not 3 times like me!!

A 3/5 drop on 26s like what I have requires some pretty extensive modifications including the free travel mod and a stronger panhard bar. Also need sway bar end links, trailing arm relocators, new shocks all around, drop spindles, drop coils and a long time for cutting, malleting and heating. I doubt you want to do all that.

i use beltech 2 front and rear 3 drop. Really it can be a 4 drop as you dont have to install the 1 inch spacer in the rear, but it makes it look way to low/

The 3/4 isnt 3/4", its 3" up front, 4" in rear. Like a 2/3 is 2" front, 3" rear. I did keys up front and 3" coils in rear of mine, but have 20's.

Your drop is sweet! And your right, I don't want to go that low...just wanna get rid of fender gap..
Sounds like a 2 inch drop up front with spindles and 4 inch lowering springs in the rear should have it sit nice then. Oh and mine is 4wheel drive, does that matter at all?

Your tahoe sits really nice... what size wheel do you have?
And I'm assuming you mean belltech 2 drop spindles in front , and lowering springs in the rear?

I have 22 on mine. using spindles will keep the ride the same. Everything in the front is unaltered. the spindles lower the front by moving the hole for axle higher, but the angle of the axles dont change at all. springs will make the ride quality change, and could lead to quicker Tire wear if not properly aligned

4WD will be pretty close to the same as a 2WD install just that you have a CV shaft.
I used the police recommended Pedders drop springs on all4 corners in the past and the rear rode like a dream (best ride I have had with drop springs on a Tahoe) but was only worth a 3" drop. The front rode good for like 1000 miles then rode like absolute junk. The Pedders people told me I could get their front performance struts and it would ride good again but I opted not to do that because I wanted to go lower anyway.
I have used

question on your kits that are new does belltech back it up if there is a warranty issue.? Had someone send me that message since the kits are a killer price but when calling belltech they were told if its not a licensed dist or the parts are used at all there is NO warranty if any issues arise.

They won't ever need to warranty it!
I highly doubt a random issue in design is gonna be present right after purchase, its not like its DJM or something.:hands:
Second, if an issue surfaces after install it is most likely due to improper install. Also its a spindle/coil kit and not a strut kit, so by just mere removal of the struts and addition of the spindle their most likely will not be an issue.

yes they will.

lets start off with rear shock extenders. They have cracked before as with djms and they took care of it right away.

Front belltech spindles bolt castings were off before which they took care of. One thing about belltech they are on top of it if issues arise.

Also people have got kits with missing parts which they replace no problem. There are issues that arise no ones perfect and doing as many kits as I do and sell numerous ones on here things do come up.

But sidenote for the difference in price you save money and if something does go wrong down the road you can just replace the parts and your done with it.

For $420 shipped thats a killer deal though.

No belltech warranty but I would address any issues that may arise. Thats a great retaliatory response Tony. Would you be so generous as to disclose what issues you have encountered that one buying this kit might encounter? How about any situations where warranty has been necessary. My parts are brand new, not used, sold several kits to very happy buyers.

i just did read above and ive had prob id say 30 kits since late 06 where items have come up. worst is when customer puts in a kit and parts are missing and they are stuck. belltech once seeing that the part has a po number they take care of it. But without one they are very strict on that stuff.

The spindle bolt casting was another issue that they took care of right away.

If your taking care of the problems if they arise down the road its the way to do it. for $420 shipped thats a killer deal like I stated and no way I can touch that for sure.

Not much is gonna be missing from a spindle coil kit. I once ordered DJM shock extenders from a popular drop website (can't remember the name) that came with half the hardware missing. They pretty much bull ******* me on getting another set of hardware.
This is after the fact I could barely get the extenders to line up right during install.

If DJM crap was not cheap and so appealing to the drop amateur like me back in the day they would have been defunct years ago.

yah sorry about that djm has taken care of me and so does belltech if items were missing. hell I cnc cut the djm arms for the trailblazers ss so im pretty good with everyone there and worked with them on the new tbss adjustable bars which im working with them on the tahoes also. We will have a adjustable rear bar out prob in about 2-3 months.

I check all my kits before I ship them being that mine are shipped from my home, not a warehouse. Listen Tony, you may think I threw you under the bus, whatever. I made others aware of an issue I had and never once mentioned your name. You're the one that responded and disclosed it was you I was referring to. Do as you must to deter others from buying members items, but the truth about you is slowly being unveiled. I greatly envy your install assistance but your SALES tactics leave alot to be desired
