As I seem to be related to that Murphy fella I wouldnt do it. It might be safe - It might work - then again it might start a plugged cat on fire - it might melt seals - it might melt or destroy something else. So no I wont try it. I have got my truck headed in the right direction and dont want a rebuild or burned out hull of a truck due to experimenting with something like this.

Longstand - we get it you think it works, but there is a ton of experienced motor heads that don't trust it. I usually side with experience on things like this. Just like buying those gorgeous TYC headlights!

I'm not saying it wouldn't clean some of the parts but it would cause hell on o rings, the plastic fuel lines, etc

Delete this thread before someone ruins a good motor. acetone is nasty stuff and does eat seals and does it fast. I sell machinery that packages the stuff, it requires special O rings and so on to hold up longer that typical viton.

I can sum all this up real quick to anyone looking t do this: DON'T./

yeahhhhh..... I'm gonna go ahead and say no to the acetone. Something seems a little too oh I dont know
...corrosive?
...caustic?
...flammable?(but then again so is gas)
and something telling me that the material felpro uses and other types of gaskets would turn into liquid gasket real quick.

but hey, they said Obama's health care plan was a bad idea too! :pepper:

Experiment at your own risk

Acetone is known to deteriorate cheap plastics and other substances. While the components in a car's fuel system should be of high quality, and thus immune to any deleterious effects from exposure to acetone, be aware that "ideal" is not always the case in practice. Be advised that not all systems have been tested against acetone. Until such thorough testing has been accomplished and certified by an accredited authority, you assume your own liability for experimentally testing acetone in your particular system.

This has been your public service announcement lol!

Obama...yes we can
Oblowa...i think we can

Seafoam is 4-5 a can at Walmart...just use it every oil change and be good!

I wouldn't put this in any my vehicles or one if I am selling. Scumbaggish to ruin someone else's ride.
