im not bagged so we're not looking for it to "tuck" but rather just fit flush with the fenders. havent measured, but we are 24x10 now and an extra inch looks like it'll work.

Yeah that's what I meant. I was mainly curious if the wheel stuck out of the fender at all. That is a really wide rim!

Well folks, the saga that has been this thread seems to be nearing its merciful end, as apparently does my warranty compliance ... and I think we can all thank the good lord for at least the former.

Agreement has been reached on a set which I should get delivered by the end of this coming week. I'm actually away next weekend so I might not have time to install them before I leave. I will however do it upon my return. Pics of course shall be taken, posted, and all shall rejoice.

Seriously though, I really want to thank everyone who has helped me out, both on this thread and via pms. Your input has been appreciated beyond what I can express without having my sexuality questioned. So hopefully a heartfelt thank you will do.

Quick question for the mathemagicians ...

The HyHoe has, in order to save weight, an emergency tire repair kit instead of a spare tire.

Now I know one of my options is to remove the resonator which in a HyHoe sits where the spare tire is in a regular Tahoe, add the spare tire kit with the tire and hoist, get a regular Tahoe bumper and (much $ later) Bob's your uncle. I was going to remove the resonator at some point anyway and probably get a regular bumper so I can get the hitch cover which doesn't exist for the HyHoe bumper.

However my question based on the premise that I don't do these mods ...

Can I use one of my current wheel/tire as a spare tire if I am willing to shlep it around in the trunk? I have the space cause I've already removed the 3rd row seats ... but I was wondering, if should I get a flat can I use one of these rims I'm taking off for a short distance without messing up the truck?

The stock wheels I'm removing are: Wheel Size: 18" x 8" 31mm offset and the tire is: 265-65-18 BRIDGESTONE DUELER HT

I'm not sure how to calculate the total circumference of both wheels, in fact I don't even know to what degree it matters if the emergency spare is slightly smaller or bigger than the other 3 wheels.

I suppose I could buy the oem spare and tire and put that in my trunk in case I get a flat ... although I can't imagine that would be the same circumference as the wheels I just bought anyway so the question would remain the same.

What do you guys do for a spare?

I mean, no one is buying rims/tires in sets of 5 and carry one in case of a flat ... right?

IMO just put the wheels on, don't bother with a spare. With the money you save from not paying for a 5th wheel, you can buy AAA. If there is an issue, put the OEM's on and take the HyHoe in

I haz the AAA Plus thing already. So just call them, have them do the repair kit on the side of the road, and change tire at the first opportunity?

Or just have them tow you to your house where your stockers are then drive it up to the tire shop. Either that or tow it straight to the tire shop depending on distance. I know that my AAA covers up to 100 miles.

Mmm, my biggest concern is when I'm on the road ... I drive between DC and NYC quite often so towing me home won't be an option in this sit.

Fix a flat will put all kinds of junk into your tire and some shops won't even touch the repair if you've used a repair kit first. What kinda repair kit are we talking here?

Also, in case of blow out a repair kit won't help ya
