I ran the voltage drop test, and I have a 0.23 volt drop on the negative battery cable to the engine block and a 0.01 voltage drop on the positive battery cable to the main fuse block. As such, the negative battery cable is above the maximum threshold of 0.20 volts, so I will replace all battery cables at the same time.

I took the truck out for a 15 mile drive and a 10 mile drive on local streets, respectively, and I had no DIC warnings. After both runs, I checked for trouble codes, and there were none.

So............. I 'think' that I am in the clear, but it will take a lot more miles of trouble code free driving, before I can fully trust the truck again.

After the replacement battery cables are in place, and I have no new trouble codes, then I will label this issue and thread as SOLVED. At this point, I believe that the source of my issue was either a bad ground #300, or the chafed wire on the transmission wire cluster.

for future reference that "bcm ground" problem was only noted on some of the early k2 pickups, apparently the production line was a little over zealous with the glue and it caused some grounding problems for the bcm, as far as I know it has never been noted for the earlier gen vehicles.

Good to know, as I really did not want to get into the dash disassembly work.

I had the same issue on the same year Xl Denali, and cleaning the chassis ground under the driver door did the trick. You can get to the ground under the dash by the driver A pilar without much dash disassembly…without damaging clips, just work smart and carefully. Start by removing the vent left of the cluster.

I havent read all of the comments but have you checked the connectors to your bcm to make sure none are loose, no wires are messed up or chafed down there or habe you checked the ground behind the panel on the drivers side kick panel near the door frame? I think its G203?

I had the limp mode with those error messages happen when my mega fuse was fried on my yukon a few years back, (being the cheapest fix known to date on any of my cars), but the codes you are getting scream the ground or wire issue

BCM ground huh? Just need to pull A-pillars and pry the defroster panel up.
BUT you risk breaking some retention tabs on the defroster panel, or the tab receptacles in the dash..
That ground isn't exposed to the elements, so personally I would skip it until you've tried everything else..
The ground isnt exposed to elements but if he has one of the leaky sunroofs, the water can go right down to that ground connection

The applicable grounds have been checked and cleaned. But, I do thank you for your suggestions.

The only ground that has not been cleaned is the ground #201 under the top of the dash near the A pillar, and I've decided not to tackle that one at this time. I'm reasonably sure at this point that the source of my issue was a corroded ground #300.
