Looks like fun but you might go faster if you pick up a Miata to play on the track with.

This is true but its more fun having swarms of people asking how the hell I turned a 6000lbs limo into a track machine.

I took my boss for a ride and he said "how the hell does this thing have less body roll than my Evo 7"

I've been so busy I forgot to post this. I did track school at Raceway Park a couple weeks ago. That was a blast. Signed up for an HPDE event at Lime Rock - waiting for approval.

Also on IG @OneBadBurb

i'm critical lol, go faster and m3 is more fun. the transmission and brakes will heat up but that comes with the territory

Nice!
Looks like a blast!

What mods do you have?
Would be great to have some instrumentation and a remote view of your truck to see how she handles the turns.

I get it……. My ’05 has hellwig sway bars, good shocks blueprinted steering box….. And due to my ‘old days’ working at a race driving school, the techniques of entering & exiting a turn ( weight transfer, etc)…. You can fool people why the 6,000 beast handles so well.
( It’s not the car….. It’s the driver”….)

I just ordered a Dragy so I can start seeing what it can pull on G's etc.

There's nothing left of the OEM suspension. Everything has been replaced.

Belltech 2" drop spindles
Belltech coil overs - front (dropped the front another 1 3/4")
Mevotech boxed aluminum A arms with poly bushings
Hotchkiss sways with DJM poly links
Spohn Delsphere for the rear 5-link (rear UCA/LCA/Panhard)
Eibach springs out back (6" drop)
DJM shock relocation brackets
Belltech sport shocks out back.

I haven't played with the compression and rebound on the CO's yet but I will get there.

While I consider myself a stable driver, I am well aware of how green I am and have miles to improve before I would even consider myself "fast". That being said, the guys in my AutoX club now say "don't get a car". I guess they are figuring that if I can handle this 18 wheeler the way I do, I am going to put up some decent competition in a track oriented car.

By the way - I did finish that Bob Bondourant book you suggested. Great read! Lots to think about and learn like understanding how that Ackerman affect changes steering angle at the entry point of a turn and I have a lot of work to get trail braking figured out.

Cool……..
Trail braking……. You have to find the “feel”…. entering the turn. Like beginning a “drift”….. then gradually apply the brakes…. Feeling the 4 tires “scrubbing”…. ( scrubbing is sort of like braking with the tires a bit sideways)…. PUTTING ALL 4 TIRES PLANTING THE SAME “FOOTPRINT” >>>> WEIGHT THE SAME , ON ALL 4 TIRES ON THE ROAD……. PRACTICE-PRACTICE-PRACTICE…..

Half way through the turn, gradually excellerate….. smoothly…..
