I hate how accurate and true this is.
Magic... now that an official fix existed, the dealer "found" the noise and put all new weatherstripping and trim on the drivers door per the bulletin which eliminated the open window noise. It only took 40 days in the shop in the first 5,000 miles to solve all the noises this one had. The quality control ship has long since sailed in the automotive industry.

So the problem is fixed now? If so that is great to hear. I dropped mine off for 2 days last week and they told me that they couldn’t hear the wind noise but ordered the new seal anyway. I had printed the bulletin and left in the vehicle as a reference. I can’t bring back in until later this month for them to fix. I’ve had the vehicle for a year and have heard the wind noise since the first time I drove on the interstate. At least I didn’t have to fight with them on ordering the new seal.

They also had to order parts for the rattling second row captains chair and the missing bolts on the heat shield. I am cautiously optimistic.

Yes, it seems to have fixed the wind noise for now.

Location
UT
So I had the truck in for service (warranty transmission) last week and one of the items i wanted diagnosed was the wind noise coming from the area of the upper right passenger door/sunroof area.

When i went to pick it up, the tech was all excited as he located the source of the wind noise. He proudly proclaimed the cause of the wind noise (identified location up front and near the top of the vehicle) to be a rusted out resonator at the rear of the vehicle. I saw the video of the bore scope and the tech claimed the soot inside the cartridge was rust and that was causing what sounded like the wind noise I identified. (apparently I must look like Mr. MaGoo)

Final ticket included an estimate of over $1k to replace the resonater and tailpipe….and the dealer was going to charge $130 diagnosis fee until i told them i wasnt going to pay for that swing and a miss which they kindly removed.

I replaced the passenger door seal myself with an OEM seal and cleaned/ lubed the sunroof gasket with silicon grease and all is good now. Also declined any exhaust work (naturally) as i have a FlowMaster cat back system ordered and will install next next week.

My wife and I taped the door, door window, and windshield completely but still heard the noise. The technician who rode with us also thought it could be the antenna, so he is going to check that.

On your other noise-- i have a periodic thumping noise on rear left captain seat. it will make this random steel noise when no one is sitting in the seat somewhat like the seat is sliding into place. But no one sits there or uses it and we know the seat is set is locked in place. is this similar to what you were experiencing?

What did your dealership tell you on each of these noises?

Mine actually happens when someone is in the seat. If you take two hands on the seat back and firmly shake you can replicate the sound. The other seat is firm. It is a clanking sound that is actually coming from the tracks. You can see it moving in the tracks and it is much worse with the weight of someone in the seat. I can sit sideways looking out of the vehicle and rock and see it moving on the outside.
