i noticed chips doing the car swaps as a kid, later on i admired them for not trashing the real cool cars.

I think that's fairly common, except these days.

Cars are all so similar and boring now, that it's the old cars with personality that get crashed. If you see a car with chrome bumpers these days, be afraid.

One of the Chips police actors, Bruce Penhall, was a champion Speedway motorcycle racer, turned actor. He raced one of our circle racing trucks in California for a while…. Bruce was promoting his custom sun glasses ( Note the black hood ) ..He had some stories about Chips!!

Today I replaced the blower motor, with a GM replacement. It took a couple minutes to relocate the motor perfectly to ‘turn to lock’, but it only took 15 minutes for the job.. It’s nice and silent ( no more off-n-on squeaks )….. The fan is a bit more powerful out the vents also !

Found a center console, dash bezel, 2 good sun visors with the auxiliary visors attached, cargo net for the back, and a pair of side mirrors from an Escalade. How can you tell for sure if they are power folding or not without hooking them up?

I would guess……. compare wires from both type mirrors. Uh, if they are not power fold, maybe they will manually fold in your hands?

The power folding mirrors won't manually move if you push or pull them?

I figured so. Accompanied by a motor sound I presume? And are the power fold motors sitting on top of the hinge inside the mirror assy?

I fold and unfold my power mirrors manually after and before driving it, with and without the SUV running. No motor sound unless I use the DDM switches.

I have a feeling these are power fold. 1) they came off an Escalade 2) there's what looks like another motor module over around the hinge area that my old non-power folding mirrors don't have
But, the passenger side moves back n forth easy like something is broke in the hinge. Not for certain yet

Annual oil change performed yesterday; well under 1000 miles driven in the past year. Nothing to note on the magnetic drain plug. The Tahoe has about 243,000 miles on it and, having retired December 31 of 2025 I hope to use the Tahoe some more in the coming months. It is our spare vehicle and sits in our garage, hood up with a battery tender attached.

Wow, had a good day yesterday. I always check the forum first thing in the morning and yesterday read all about power mirrors on this and the other thread. Went to town in the afternoon and tried it, I have power mirrors. I had no idea. Thanks guys.

Funny… You are not alone…... happened to me also….. 3 months after buying my 2005 Yukon ( 6 years ago)….. I had no idea my mirrors folded.
Until i saw posts about the driver side door switches.

You guys are lucky. I didn't have them, but i was able to add them. They're awesome.
