I have been saying this for quite a while. Looks like the safest jobs, from A-I, includes mechanics.....Along with cooks, bartenders and lifeguards.

I'm a mobile skilled maintenance tech. I SERIOUSLY doubt that any part of my job can be replaced by AI. Maybe the paperwork and work order part of it, but the actual troubleshooting and repairing stuff, NOPE.

FWIW AI is an initialism (and not an acronym) and shouldn't have any punctuation or additional characters added.

I do that because, on another forum, someone asked why I was talking about A1 Steak sauce.

AI is definitely going to impact automotive techs. After average Joe goes to AI and drains the oil from the trans and fills it back up through the oil tube to get 16 quarts in the block, free visit from customer.

I believe that you are correct at a high level.

But, regarding specific job classes, there are already robots serving as bartenders in other countries. It's kind of cute now, but maybe not, when it become more universal.

Risk Governance roles will not be AI. This sounds like and easy role to automate but in many cases it actually increases the number of roles in a governance department. Many businesses have requirements that models and technology require certain amount of manual checks on its accuracy and functionality so this is also an emerging role.

We could generate serious turmoil if we started moving all the posts with errors in grammar, spelling, etc [and our correcting posts] to the 'Grammar N*A*Z*I' thread.

Just a thought. It could be more effective, too.

there may be some aspects that AI could take over on my job , but the way the federal laws are written and current requirements from the government, i dont see them taking over the armed nuclear security spots for a while. things like the main security computer system for say cameras and other alarms is 100% stand alone and cannot be connected to anything that isnt closed loop, so there isnt a remote breach. besides ai cant aim and pull a trigger just yet.
