Keep this updated, I have been planning out the same upgrade on my escalade just haven't got around to it yet, I retrofitted my Denali about 10 years ago and the light output is WAY better than the escalade HID reflector setup.

I have not opened a set of escalade headlights yet, but my gut reaction is to remove the reflector and make a mounting bracket to go in its place, this would help recess the lights and deal with the shallow housing. Unfortunately this would also force a mod to the high beam setup as well.
I'm planning to mount to the reflector bowl. This is a set of cheap aftermarket 02 headlights that had halogens in the lows.

changed out my washer tank and pumps for a ebay special. came with the new lines. mine were already broken and patched up. got to say the fluids never come out stronger. and it dont leak.

other car news my camaro. over winter i installed ID 1050X injectors and a zl1 fuel pump. cut the floor open under the back seat, cause a tank drop is nuts when you need to drop the whole sub frame out the car. also installed Viking double adjustable drag shocks in the rear. (just got it aligned yesterday. i got it damn close by eye) went for a retune a few weeks later, pulled the restrictor out of my air filter, used to make 6.5 psi, now 12 psi. she made 672 whp. 90 whp gain.

also picked up a trunnion kit but have yet to install them.

hole cut.

restrictor plate in air filter. removed that junk. amazing this will reduce the boost that much.

trap door makes total sense...they should have had it that way all along. Always said next time I have to do one I will just install an old gas door on it.

not surprised that restrictor cut the air flow that much...area increases with the square of the radius. 1.5" to 2" is double the cross sectional area. Whats the diameter difference were talking here?

Damn thanks... i have that open right now too. I didnt even think about those. Same part number?

Edit - found another post that explains this well
i would have to dig up the part number. its a 90* fitting with 3/4" quick connect and 5/8 hose barb on the other end.

ive not measured it, but id guess that hole is less then 3 inches, its a 4 inch filter. 6 ish psi gain on the same blower pulley. its paxton centrifugal style blower with the loud tial BBV. lifting from wot its way way louder now, and you can hear it sucking in air way more too.

Unbolted the receiver hitch from my '02, cleaned it up, gave it some fresh black paint, and then installed it on my '05 Z71. Also, been trying to find a way to combine the 2nd auxiliary sun visor with the '05 visors. I would just swap the whole visors out, but the '02's main visor parts are ripped

I decided to try cleaning out my coolant reservoir tank. I want it to look new again or close to it, but I'm not having much luck. It's better, but a long way from looking new. I've tried Dawn, oven cleaner, bleach, crushed ice, and even denture cleaner tablets. Like I said, better, but not there yet. Any suggestions for something thats tried and true?

I approve of this. Some guys on here get a twist in their britches when they see that.

not gonna lie. that hurt my soul a bit. its a 13 with 26,000 miles on the clock. still faster and easier then dropping the tank. and yeah why all cars dont come with the removable panel is beyond me. and the best part....theres a transfer pump on the other side., so if that ever quits ill have two trap doors lol

My last 2 vehicles were a '90 Suburban and my current 07 Tahoe. Both times the fuel pumps took a crap when there was snow and ice on the ground and temps in the teens. Sure as hell wasn't gonna drop a tank in those conditions.

Yesterday I replaced my burnt DRL sockets and installed amber Sylvania LED 4114 bulbs. The OEM replacements were $25 each on Amazon, and came with heat shrink connectors.

Pro tip: use some silicone grease on the gasket before installing the new one. it was a VERY tight fit and the silicone helped it glide much easier as it turned to lock into place.

I thought about that too. Is it for sure? I'm trying to get this sucker almost clear. At least get rid of the yellow/red build up
Yep, I used it in a junkyard reservoir I picked. CLR & hot water, then shook the heck out of it & let it sit overnight. I'd show you a photo of the result, but my Yukon is currently buried under about a foot of snow.

I need to get around to doing that. My DRLs havent worked for years... My blinkers have switchbacks so it didnt much matter for awhile but I dont love the color temp the "white" is way too blue, and one has failed. Looks stupid.

The DRL issue on these trucks is so widespread Im surprised that there isnt a readily available factory upgrade. I suppose that your fix replace - sockets and go LED is the only real option.

I went Amber on the DRL LEDs because their white LEDs looked awful - I was disappointed in Sylvanias color temp selection (probably 6500 Kelvin when I was going for 3,000 ish). The ambers look great since it matches the turn signals.
