worked fine, Quit working and was stuck in 2x4. then got ***** and was stuck in automatic 4x4, Then back in 2x4 and so on. ended in 4x4 automatic. Changed out swithc, Module, motor, and finally the solenoid to the diff, One at a time. Early on when replaced the control module I tried battery reset, no help.
Today going to try reset again and check fuses again.
What else to do beside taking to an electronic guru. Anybody know one in the Sacramento valley or Sacramento? Anybody close with a good a scan tool programmer that can help.

Find someone with a good bi-directional scan tool that can read chassis codes. There is likely a Cxxx code or two for guidance. Also, a good scan tool can show live data and tell you what the commanded vs. actual mode values are.

By "motor" do you mean the encoder motor on the transfer case? Or?

Yes on shift motor. I thought that was what the AC Delco shop here did. They said the Cardone motor I put on was bad and my old was bad too. Wanted to sell me a new Dorman for about 700 more that the 300 I gave them for diagnosis. I put it on my self for 250. nowhere sit. Right now I have the battery disconnected and will attempt re-learn now.

After two new coder motors Cardone and the Dorman i put on today I am convinced the shop was wrong and it is likely the TCCM does not seem to be booting up (waking up I heard it called). I turn the key on I get all four lights flashing on the dash switch but nothing will stay on or com on when I push a any button. I tried both TCCM's I have here. Same result.
I got nowhere last time, So I posted again with new details. I do not have a advanced scan tool.

Have you checked the tire condition on all 4 corners? Mismatched brands, excessive wear front vs. back etc can cause binding if on a hard surface without any wheel slippage available. The rolling circumference have to match/be very close. If they aren't, this can cause it to become 'stuck' in a certain range due to driveline binding. Doesn't exactly explain the stuck in 2wd, but something to look at nonetheless.

Same problem I had on my girl's 2002 TrailBlazer, about 3 to 4 months ago. TCCM. The clue was the codes I got. You have provided no codes.

Just swapping a different TCCM will not cut it. I provided VIN to a seller at ebay and he sent one, TCCM, that was plug and play.
