So is the AC Delco store on Amazon selling real GM parts?

Just wondering if anyone has delt with the "ACDelco store" on Amazon? Reason I'm asking is for all of the counterfeit GM and ACDelco products that Amazon sells this seller just screams of being fake and selling counterfeit products. For instant, GM GENUINE 748UU, plug wires cost around $80.00+ on Rockauto however, the ACDelco store sells them for $ 61.47. Not making accusations about the ACDelco store but just wondering.

That’s a big reason I stopped buying auto parts from
Amazon. I usually buy from rock auto or from discount online dealers.

I would pay the extra $20 and be safe.

Me personally, I don't trust them, especially their AC Delco plugs. I'd rather play it safe and get genuine parts from a parts store.

I definately bought my engine and transmission cooler lines from them, no problems..

Yes, I've purchased a lot of parts from them. My local dealer also orders from there, they can get the parts less expensive than what AC Delco sells to the dealer. Products have the genuine GM hologram and all that.

the catch with ordering off of amazon is to pay attention and look to see who is the actual seller, if it is sold by amazon or the ac delco store/gm store you are fine
it's when it is not in stock it's sold by other big places like world parts direct which is a BIG gm dealer, it's some of the other places or the bait & switch you have be aware of.
not really much different than ordering from rockauto, if they do not have it in there warehouse then it ships from any other certified dealer on there network which could be a multitude pf places across the country..

I usually compare prices across Amazon, Rock Auto, etc... and Amazon (even with Prime) will raise their price to be close to RockAuto's lower price + shipping.

For me, if I need something fast then Amazon is usually the choice. If I'm not in a rush I support RockAuto. I've also had really good luck buying stuff on eBay.

I don't always buy from Amazon because they are the cheapest. I buy from Amazon because I can have it within a day or two. And if there's any hassle or any problems. You take it back 1/2 block down the road at the UPS Store and you have your money in an hour or two. No place else does that. The ease and simplicity are worth money to me.....

the problem is you dint know it's a fake until you have it installed and it fails earlier than expected. usually way outside the return. and it always seems to be something hard to replace.

they got me on oil pressure sensors, bag and part looks legit, but they all failed in 6 months or so. after digging deeper. the font on the part was slightly smaller than the oem. replaced with oem from the dealer
ship, (just ask if they will price match gm parts direct, usually they won't fully, but will knock some off) none of them have failed yet.

you'll simply never convince me that gm is selling parts thru Amazon for less than the network dealership pays for them.

no way that's a thing, especially when the dealer network says a part is out of stock and they can't get it, but acdelco directly has the part in stock on Amazon but not acdelco.com. to me that's gotta be a fake part. I wouldn't trust it.

that's my take, find a local small acdelco parts place. they have a account setup to order parts from acdelco network. if they can't get the part but you see the part listed on Amazon, and supposedly acdelco's Amazon store front. I find that fishy.

My local dealer parts manager whom I know personally says this has been going on for years. AC Delco charges the dealers a premium on parts. They also use their account at NAPA of all places. Frequently less expensive and faster parts procurement. (NAPA gives them a jobber rate/discount. My employer has such an account as well, and encourages all employees to use our company discount.... Which is huge on gaskets. I get the felpro oil pan gasket for the LS engines for around $24, a little over half of retail price.)

The thing you have to be careful about on Amazon is to look at the upper left and make sure it says the ACDelco store. The downside is they are not tied into Amazon's system of checking the application. You need to know the part number you need. I typically use RockAuto or one of the GM parts sites to get the part number, then just look that part number up on Amazon and it will lead you to the ACDelco storefront. Shipping is usually two or three days longer than normal Amazon items, as their shipped separately usually by UPS.

Just in the last couple of months, I started noticing a lot of prices at my local gm dealer starting to line up with the pricing at rock auto, and even a couple of times, being a few bucks cheaper.

I am from Canada so it might be different than most of you guys, but it was really bad until recently. I remember having a price with delivery from rock auto and showing it to my parts guy at gm. He spun his computer around and showed me my discount, and also showed me his cost. His cost was 100 dollars more than I could get it from rock auto.

Same thing would happen with tires at a buddies tire shop that was labeled as a Goodyear tire store right on the sign. He could often save money by ordering from tire rack. It makes no sense, but it is a thing.

It's pretty foolish to think the AC Delco store on Amazon is fraudulent. They have the entire AC Delco catalog you can order from. To recreate the entire product line of AC Delco with counterfeit parts would be unheard of.... And if the site really was a counterfeit retailer, AC Delco would have had Amazon in court long ago for allowing their trademark and part numbers to be used. And yeah, what a dealer shows something that's discontinued and no longer available.... You will find the listing for it in their catalog on Amazon.... And it matches the dealer info as no longer available. For a third party to replicate AC delco's entire stock, including what is no longer available, it's pretty much pure fantasy. I've compared AC Delco knock sensors for the 6.0 that came from their Amazon presence, to the OEM ones from the dealer.... Identical down to the hologram on the packaging, and the Little Dot of paint or ink in the exact same location on the side.

Hm... I just ordered a Delphi cam sensor from RA, so lets hope it's not a crib-death.
