The LTX m/s is also rated at 70k but there is no way these are good for another 30k. Here in snow country once you hit 4-5/32 I get concerned about winter performance.
Yeah, I should have been more clear in my post, I was referring to both the M/S and M/S2 when I said they are rated at 70k miles.

I can understand the whole winter aspect. I don't seem to have that issue down here in the free state of Florida for some reason... lol

If it was spring I would run these another summer.

FWIW, when I went to buy new tires for the 2012, it was right between the changeover from the LTX M/S and M/S2, and Discount Tire was out of both. I ended up with Continental TerrainContact and they’re excellent.

Got hosed by the local Fleet Farm on Friday. I needed a new battery and decided to buy one from my parts store buddy rather than a box store. After I installed my new one I went to warranty the failed Interstate. The guy there said they only do exchange and wouldn’t refund me. I didn’t have time to argue with him that morning because we were supposed to leave town so I just accepted the exchange and left with the new battery. This doesn’t sit right with me though. I mean who always has the convenience to have a battery fail and be able to do an exchange. What if you’re out of town somewhere? You just gotta get fixed and back on the road. I think I will go and see if I can speak to a manager at the store about this before I do anything with this extra battery.

I went back to the store and spoke to the service manager. He agreed with me took the new Interstate battery back and gave me a refund. Nice to have that sorted.
