On today’s episode of “it ain’t supposed to be like that” here’s the old steering shaft after replacement. This is after I wire wheeled it and greased it. It had plenty of rust on the telescoping part. This is the 3rd time I’ve replaced this POS over the years. Tried different iterations of OEM, today I begrudgingly tried the Dorman shaft. For now it works, glad to be clunky free for now at least.

Seems a bit stiff.

Can this camera see the hitch coupler, or is it adjustable vertically? Asking for a friend...
I just finished the install. The camera has swivel adjustment on it. Im not sure if my hitch ever came in the picture as it was me adjusting and goinf up front to check.

I had removed the wiper arm a while back.
Ordered some rubber plugs for the 1 1/8 hole where the wiper motor was.

Thanks! Now I just need to find someone with Facebook to order one lol :poop:

Where did you run the wiring, assuming at the top of the hatch and down the D pillar?
Through the hatch, inside the factory rubber grommet, down into the rear pass pillar and above the headliner on the passenger side. What a pain in the rear to remove and reset the factory rubber harness cover above the hatch area.

Haven't really cared for a backup camera until I saw this setup. Some guy selling them on Facebook.

I haven't really cared for a backup camera either, until I started driving a cargo van for work. I have no rear visibility at all, so I need the camera and the side mirrors when backing that thing up.
But my Suburban, I've been driving that thing for the past 20 years now with no backup camera, and I can back it up with NO problem. I can usually get within a foot of whatever I am backing up to. If I towed a trailer more often, then I would probably want one for solo trailer hookup. But other than that, I would probably not use it often. When I drive my wife's Traverse I don't even look at the camera, I look at the mirrors when backing up because I am so used to driving my Suburban.
