Navigation disc being spun endlessly?

Does anyone know if it is normal for the radio / navigation unit to spin the navigation disc endlessly? Even after following the service manual procedure to end the Retained Accessory Power mode, the radio / navigation unit can still be heard spinning the navigation disc.

I hear mine spinning when the key is on. Been doing that since I bought it. Turn the radio and AC on and the annoyance will go away! LOL
