What I understand from the letter:
1) We will Pico when we have an engine laying around for replacement. If it fails, then engine will be replaced. Story over.
2) If it passes, then they do an oil change to 0/40. Most important: they change the cap.
3) Do they extend the warranty at this point? If so, to what?
4) So now, assuming I passed Pico, I am driving it carefree, just fatter, dumber, and happier. Until it fails.
5) Resale value sucks at this point, but at least I have a new cap.
6) If I am 1,000 miles from home and it fails what happens? I have not seen this addressed. I am about to be out of some major dollars for hotel rooms, airfare, or something.
7) Or.....do I just say fork it and have it rebuilt by a quality engine rebuilder.
I sold my care and trouble free 2011 GMC Yukon XL with 203,000 miles to get to this 2023. Because I was putting it on the road. Probably 10,000/15,000 miles/year.
I am open to wisdom..........or whatever.
