Water spot damage in 2024 Yukon

These are spots, on my hood, .... polishing won't take out. Seems to be in-bedded into the clear coat.

They look like just water spots, but it's not

Oof. That looks like something very acidic dripped across the hood. Any idea what it could have been?

That looks like a chemical of sorts or paint splatter. That will need to be wet-sanded to fix or even painted.

Besides those spots that paint looks very good if that’s the garage door overhead reflection!

We had similar spots on my wife’s Honda hood and couldn’t figure it out as the car is always in garage when not driven. I tried everything to get those out and nothing worked.

I asked our insurance agent to have it checked out and fortunately the adjuster and body shop thought it was chemical damage maybe from construction or transport and they covered the cost of repainting the hood. Actually had the work done at a Cadillac body shop and they did amazing job, looked brand new and the beige metallic paint matched perfectly.

Good job ! I have determined, those little spots were due to ...something dripping on the hood, DURING the factory paint job.
