"No one will put parking dents in my truck anymore and say it wasn't her." <-- you odds are better, but there are still those parking lot Karens, no?I separated from my wife today, which means:
My truck will no longer be scratched with diamond rings that I also purchased. No one will put parking dents in my truck anymore and say it wasn't her. No one will carelessly throw their zippered purse into my car and scratch the dashboard anymore. No one will put leftover food in my truck anymore. The edge of the driver's door no longer hits the wall when opened, and no one disadjusts the air conditioning, including the vents.
And me and my truck will never argue... Just pure harmonie, connected in deep love...
Didn't Bob Marley sing something like, "No woman, no pain... Drive a truck and feel the gain."?
Who had done more for his Truck in the last time? Tell me...

summit sells a trap door for about 40 bucks if you want to chop a hole in your trucks floor. been thinking about doing that for my camaro due to the fact dropping that tank is a literal nightmare.Spied this at the salvage yard today while liberating a door handle.

It did however inspire me to be proactive in the not to distant future AND fabricate an access plate to this area of the gas tank AND make it look factory. Because, well, ........ fuel pump.![]()
Thanks, #TNK-AD-66 allows decent access to the pump and gas lines. It will make for a good fall-back if my fab job gets sketchy.summit sells a trap door for about 40 bucks if you want to chop a hole in your trucks floor. been thinking about doing that for my camaro due to the fact dropping that tank is a literal nightmare.
It looks more than a kind of weird steam punk art than like work ...Spied this at the salvage yard today while liberating a door handle.

Hope you went OEM on the bearing or you'll be back in there soon. Do you have adjustable pedals? Those were a PITA to get that one nut back on for me. And I went Dorman first despite being warned. Didn't even last a week. The tiny leprechaun tapping at the far end of the steering shaft has been banished. I replaced the upper and lower steering shafts today along with the steering shaft column bearing.
About 5k miles ago I replaced front and rear suspension components and all steering components south of the steering box in search of 'like new' handling.
A tapping sensation remained in the steering wheel that was very slight and sometimes unnoticeable. The 'taps' are now gone and at 168k the steering wheel has very very little play. No plans to adjust the lash in the gearbox, for now.
As was suggested in another thread, the gas pedal assembly was unbolted and set aside before going after the steering shaft bearing. Two extensions and a 10mm socket at the end of a swivel made wrangling the assembly manageable. From what I've read I was fortunate, the bearing came out without a fight. It took more effort to get the new one installed than it did removing the old one.
With no busted knuckles and only one small cut, I am pleased.
There's more to do with the beast as I go bumper to bumper. In the morning my body will tell me how adventurous to be.![]()
I don't think I'm allowed to roll with that type of equipment...I thought it was for this…

Please report back with the shop you like, and/or the estimate. I have a truck I might fix yet. And thank you!Sprayed my rocker panels with the rust stop from Rustoleum. Let dry then Duplicolor to match. Going to get a price to have all that repaired this year. But you can hardly see it!
Please do a thread when you do. That sounds like a great ideaSpied this at the salvage yard today while liberating a door handle.

I have them on all my vehicles and love themI washed my floor mats today and I’m very close to buying some Weathertech floor mats. Anyone have any feedback on them before I spend close to $250?
Yezzir, a pricey OEM bearing resides there now.Hope you went OEM on the bearing or you'll be back in there soon. Do you have adjustable pedals? Those were a PITA to get that one nut back on for me. And I went Dorman first despite being warned. Didn't even last a week.
Thanks, and I shall. After thinking of it I viewed some real questionable hack jobs while lurking on Youtube. Please do a thread when you do. That sounds like a great idea
