I have a 2015 Tahoe LT and 2018 Yukon Denali, and the backup cameras are horrible at night. Can an aftermarket camera connect to the original harness and work with the factory stereo?

Welcome to the forum from Virginia. There are lots of plug and play cameras out there where you won’t need to tap into the wiring.

Part of the “haze” at night is the reflection of the license plate lights off of the reflective plate. Do not upgrade your license lights to LED or the haze will become more pronounced.

Almost makes a guy want to connect the license lights to go off, via relay, when the reverse lights come on…

If the OP doesn’t chime in the link above should work well.

I found that bright LED back up lights make a big difference with the camera at night.

Did you find any good recommendations? I have the same with my 2016 Tahoe LTZ. I’m wondering if the camera from a later year model would be compatible?
