Hey all,
The wife has her 2022 Tahoe booked in for the 2nd complimentary oil change tomorrow at our local dealer.
She just mentioned the dealer advised that there was a recall in place for “Diesel Engine Incorrect Calibration”, and that it would be recalibrated. Not sure what that entails, I plan to call in the morning when they open but figured I’d ask if anyone else has heard of this.

The GM Owner Center lists no recalls for the vehicle, and we just had it at the dealer 2 or 3 weeks ago to have the dash software updated and this wasn’t brought up so seems like a new thing.

On another note - are you all forking out for “multi-point inspections” on top of the free oil/filter service? Dealer wants $90 for it here in Canada.

Suspect the calibration is related to the daytime running light interaction with the turn signals.

As for $90 for bogus inspection, well, you live in Alberta.

Checked the service paperwork from when we had the dash software update done, they took care of the DRL recall at that time as well. So must be something else. I'll report back once I speak with the dealer.
As for the inspection, roger that.

Well the dealer wasn't much help. Even the service manager couldn't explain the scope of the fix, just that it was to reprogram the ECM - "we're updating the software" was the depth of her knowledge.
I was able to get a copy of the "Service Update" as it is called - N212355140, see attached. It is brand new, released Jan 23rd.

Got conflicting info at the dealership and from Chevrolet Customer service, as to whether it is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or a Recall. Either way, can't find any info online related to it yet.
As this point I declined the work until they can explain what the issue with the calibration is and how the fix will impact the vehicles operation. I don't want to be a guinea pig for this brand new fix.

Let me know if anyone else gets some info on this.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was a revised fuel calibration for "better emissions." But, I could be wrong. I would hold out to see what it actually is supposed to correct. Think VW and their whole remapping that made the cars get worse fuel economy.

Anytime the govt gets involved to appease environmentalists that have no clue about engine efficiency, you will pay more to drive.

100%. I specifically cited this as a reason why I wanted more info. I said for all I know this will change fuel economy. Right now the vehicle is working great. Not going to fix what isn't broke unless I know more.

Looks pretty cut and dry to me. 21 and 22 certain vehicles affected. Wrong ecm calibration. Crazy that your so apprehensive over something they are trying to fix/get ahead of.

To each their own i suppose.

The Service Update did not list any trucks. Maybe they get a different calibration than SUVs?

Same scenario here. 2022 Yukon Diesel in yesterday for the DRL recall and came back as also having addressed the Diesel Engine Incorrect Calibration. Would be nice to understand it more, so I get why you are curious.
