Anyone know if the 2017 Yukon dual USB-A can be swapped with the newer USB-C and USB-A or USB-C/USB-A/SD CARD

Pretty sure it will just plug in and everything should work. All of these that I have seen are just a USB hub regardless of what ports are on the front. It has a single mini USB plug on the back and a six-pin connector that provides power, ground, illumination and audio (if there is a 3.5mm AUX IN). I bought one of these to play around with and as long as you supply 12V and ground it can be plugged into a computer and everything works.

Ok - thanks for the replies - I'll be the guinea pig.

Just ordered one on eBay hopefully here by the weekend...

Is there a preferred set of pry tools I should get - this is something I have procrastinated on buying since in the past you could get by with a mini flat blade screw driver most of the time.

So it didn't look like we were going to get an update so I bought the same plug OP has in his first post.

I have a 2016 Tahoe LTZ, and that plug is much larger and will not fit into either spot for the plug in front of the cupholders or the spot inside the center console. In addition to that, the 6 pin connector is not the same. The mini USB connection is correct for the center console spot.

In my Tahoe, the front spot is just 2 USB ports. The center console is 2 USB ports and an aux jack. I have an SD card slot in the back of the center console (RSE area), but that doesn't work for the radio at all... Only for RSE. I wanted to be able to load my music onto and SD card.

I ended up purchasing this P/N 13581213

This works perfectly and allows music from the SD card to be played through the radio. Has the same connections as the stock plug in the center console, and snaps right into place. Will update with pictures if I can remember.

Not the answer everyone was looking for as it doesn't add USB-C which would be nice.

Is there any advantage to this vs. just using the stock USB ports with an A to C cable? I have been using them for years without any issues...

I went and bought the original unit that the OP posted, I had the same issue with install with it being too big for the OG spot below the HVAC controls.
