What size tires do you have? Are they 275/50 r22?

Probably not, that isn't the right tire size for a K2. The 275/50 and narrower and taller (which will also make the speedometer and odometer off) than the 285/45.

While all that is true…they look like 275/50’s.

Not really. They look just like a 285/45. Plus, they're Michelin Premier LTX which is now discontinued (because it was not a very good tire for a full-size) and to the best of my knowledge was never even offered in 275/50.

I'm looking at a 2016 Suburban LS with 5.3, cloth, Max trailer package, smooth ride air shocks, 20" wheels with 61k miles. Dealer wants $39k. I test drove it today, first time in this model year. I've driven a rental 2008 Tahoe, and this is more powerful. Smooth with positive feeling shifts like mine. Do these have the AFM and are they still burning oil and wearing out rockers? Any issues I should look out for? thanks.
From a style perspective, my favorite is the 4th generation GMT K2UC/G (15-20).
I can't stand the new 5th generation body style (GMT1YC) because of the way it sits on the chassis.

I like the look where the body is flush with the chassis and the wheels are flush with fenders, if that makes sense. The problem with the 5th is that even if you were to put offset wheels on there, you still have the rear and front to deal with too.
From a reliability standpoint, the 07-14 5.3 motors have more than proven their worth. The 2010-2013 door panels pull handles tend to fall apart though and another issue I can think of is the actuators in the dash going out.

My daily for the last 6 Months has been a 17 Range Rover. I drove a 15 Yukon home a few weeks ago I fell in love and bought it. I've been working in the Auto Industry since I was 17 and I can't believe I slept on these rigs for so long. They are so comfortable and drive AMAZING. Will be selling the Rover as soon as the Yukon is dialed in.

Me too, they were hiding in plain sight.

I have a 2018 that has 80k and the only thing changed was the front struts and soon the rears. Besides this the truck has not seen the dealer since new. I only have to replace the center armrest lid. The k2xx is a very quiet and solid ride. I think this is the last model that will have the rear differential (non IRS). I had a 2008 for 14 years and I have to say the k2xx has Benz quality and feel. I would buy again and probably my next one will be a 2020 platinum with low miles. I love the look especially the front end over the 2021+.

Lid is an easy swap, one issue the Escalade has that the others don’t because of the nicer material just doesn’t seem to last. You can replace with the same or I think in 2018 they came out with a more durable one similar to the other models (on the left in the below picture).

Looks great but doesn’t feel the same though so if you’re a texture person I would go with the original.

Nice looking tahoe @BlackDragon16 Are those the AMP power sidesteps? Their slimmer profile look good with your trimmed front air dam valance.

Did any of your previous '15 or '16 models have the OEM power sidesteps by chance? If so; How do you like the function of the AMP sidesteps compared to OEM?

2015 Platinum with a decent sized list of mods. Besides cosmetics, lowering kit, brakes, & wheels. I did ARH headers full exhaust, tune, sway bars etc. Only issue that I can recall is replacing the Tstat due to the fans staying on. The Tstat and housing is basically integrated. Access is reasonable so no big issue there. The 6.2 though. Lot's of fun especially after the tune. Liked the 6.2 so much I picked up a 2018 Silverado High Country with the same engine. Lots of fun. Happy with this generation Escalade without a doubt.

@ CMoore711, I have a set of OEM power steps that I took off the 2015 Platnum Escalades. Steps only not motors. I purchased a new set of steps a while ago, I smoothed and color matched the new steps then swapped them when they were done.

Thanks CMoore

I had the factory power steps on my 15. It’s hard to remember, but they probably were smoother than the Amp Research. I think the Amp look better though…

2016 Tahoe LT with 81,000 miles as of November 2022.

It's been good. The only shop work I have on it beyond routine maintenance was an oil leak at about 65,000 miles, which was $800.

There's a rattle I can't quite find; I'm sure there's a piece of the exhaust system vibrating against something else when the conditions are right.

Beyond that it has been exactly what it it supposed to be and I have no regrets.

Both my kids drive now, one of them is in college, and we have sold our camper. So the Tahoe is beginning to feel a bit large for my daily needs. I plan to drive it 2 more years and then downsize.

Bought a 17 Tahoe, love it, just bought 16 Denali, no drive time yet.
I think the key to these is the right oil changes early, instead of delaying oil changes.

I have the 2015 Escalade. I purchased the Escalade a couple years ago. I bought the car then found the Cadillac and Tahoe forums. Seems like you always read about someone having lifter or misfire issues. Would I have bought a 2015 had I read the forums before my purchase? Maybe not just out of being cautious. I bought it used a couple years ago. So far no issues with the 6.2. Has just over 62,000 miles now. Replaced front struts and rear shocks then while it was shopped as preventative maintenance I had all fluids changed…brake, oil, Transmission, differentials, and coolant. I use “Range” to delete AFM. Change oil every 5,000 miles, use premium fuel and add fuel system cleaner twice a year. Hopefully with preventative maintenance I can avoid any major issues and can continue to love the vehicle. I use Mobil 1 extended performance 0w20 or Castrol extended performance 0w20 Dexos gen2 oil and AC Delco oil filter.

I'm right there with you with kids driving, but every time I look around it seems EVERY newer vehicle is a POS due to the pandy or supply chain. A Silvy wont fit in my garage, but maybe a Canyon in a few years after GM fixes all the shit that will inevitably go wrong year 1 and 2. My 18 is excellent; paid off, runs good with tune/airaid/corsa, and has never needed anything but routine oil changes and detailing. Maybe my biggest issue now is finding stuff to do to it...
