PDI is not the same as a dealer signing the transport company's drop off bill of lading. Once a dealer signs it without damage noted if physical damage is found later then the dealer is on the hook.

PDI is suppose to be a checklist of mechanical operation and fluid checks among other items.

So, my order is still stuck in Midlothian, lord knows when I'll see it, BUT, a local dealer called me at 7:30 this morning saying they had 3 new Yukons dropped off. All with Super Cruise.

I went home with the XL :)

Nice! Always been a sucker for White! (even though I went for Satin Steel this time). Beautiful ride!

How are you liking those wheels in person. I see them in pics, and haven't felt like they were "wow" to me, but haven't seen any in person yet!

I haven't had much time to sit and gawk at it yet, busy schedule this week, but I can already tell they're going to be a pain to detail. They fit the large truck frame well though.

Now I have to go find the 2023 issues thread and start putting in my problems.... o_O

Those of you with the 2023 Ultimates -- can you hear any audio out of the headrest speakers? IF mine are working they are so quiet as to be useless. Wondering if I just can't perceive the sound or if they are very quiet.

I'm picking up my Ultimate tomorrow and I really don't like the wheels, but I always run custom wheels/tires in the summer so these will be good winter wheels and tires

@Danimalx87 congrats on the new Ultimate! It's weird though to think we order a vehicle and then don't really get the one we ordered?! This middle-man dealership thing is bu11sh1t! They seems to only order what is right for them.

True about the wheels ...never been a fan of them on the pictures ...but yes, still waiting to see one in person. Cross my fingers I'll have one this year.

I haven't been able to hear anything out of them. Only tried listening to music from Spotify through my phone so far.

Is there a setting for those speakers to be on or off? I was actually worried my wife would complain about them.

Well she arrived today, what a ride. View attachment 384426Now to just figure out all the settings and tech in this beast.
I sat in the driveway for about half an hour just going through the options :) The massaging seats made it more enjoyable.

If you can find a way to activate the 360 camera system whenever the vehicle drops under 5 mph that would be amazing. Hitting the button every time is getting old. Also, getting the parking brake to apply whenever I shift into park. I feel like that should be ab easy one but I can't figure it out.

Enjoy the new ride!

Interesting update, my dealer called and said they were going to fly down some retired drivers to pick up trucks from Texas and drive them back. I needed to approve the miles on the truck in order for GM to let them bring them out. Looking at about 700 miles depending on which route they take.

I declined. Maybe if I was the one making the trip if would have been a fun experience, but waiting this long for a new truck, just to have a few hundred miles on it when it arrives, wasn't for me.

Ya... Somebody made the comment "Planes fly themselves" Planes are only on auto pilot after they reach cruising altitude and only if the trip is smooth. During turbulence, takeoff and landing the pilot is in full control. And he has a human backup.

Well, that’s not entirely correct - most large commercial airline pilots will switch on the autopilot literally seconds after calling, “Gear up”. These systems are designed to be left on during turbulence; they are exceptionally fault-tolerant because people will die if they are not. A lot of time, testing, and unfortunate accidents have paved the way for these systems to be remarkably reliable. It is rare that these systems will randomly disengage (RIP AF 447) or fail. It is a different story, however, on smaller planes where it can be safer to disengage the autopilot and manually fly.

And this is my beef with most automakers: they are treating software like a second-class citizen. Just look at all the software issues these newer vehicles have. They need to treat every aspect of their systems as life-and-death. I hope they’re not sitting there going, “Meh … if Super Cruise drives off a dock and kills a family of four … it’s just a family of four. It’s not like it’s a 737 or something.”
