hey everyone
i’m just about to finish up a bit of work on my trans that i’m sure most are familiar with … i’ve got an 07 gmc yukon denali 6.2 v8 AWD with the 6L80…
it’s absolutely plagued with the 2-3 that feels like you could break your neck - but the rest of the shifts are smooth. 3-4 flare…experienced this & subsequent limp mode for the first time about a month ago & the truck has been parked & been worked on since.

a quick list of work i’ve done(myself) no later than within the last 3 months that could possibly relate to rough shift issues -

- replaced all u joints in both driveshafts
- replaced filter, gasket, fluid in trans
- replaced checkballs, filter screen on tehcm
- replaced pressure control laminate seals within tehcm

i’m pretty sure i’ve done what i can short of an entire overhaul & rebuild & i prefer to save that for last - if needed.

on tisweb - my trucks got quite a few calibration updates - including the ones for the TCM that address the shift flares & hard shifts that i’m experiencing.

i don’t have a tech2, yet.

is anyone local to Philly area that might be willing to help me get these flashed to my truck? i don’t mind compensating for your time, if so. truck runs & drives fine & i can come to you.

lmk - please & thank you! this is the last of my major projects on my rebuild. & im excited to see if this would help the issue.

I looked on the Forum's Tech 2 Owners List, and the only person listed in PA is in Lancaster.

But, maybe there is a Forum member in the Philly area who is not signed up yet on our list.

While I cannot offer a tech2 I am subscribing to see who may be available to assist as I may be looking for some assistance once I complete a few of the same items. I am in bucks county and am a week or two away from doing the diffs and transfer case and debating on attempting the trans myself or pay someone to do it. Been getting quotes and have not settled on anyone yet because I would rather do it myself. If you find anyone willing to help I would be in for learning along with you if it worked out that way or assist in other ways if I can.

Hey so I am running into some trouble with my tranny as well that not many people seem to have a problem with. Everyone says 2-3 shift but mine is actually 3-2 when stopping. Looking at doing the same thing you did and wanted to see how yours went. Did you find a tech2 local to Philly?

Updating the calibrations will require (depending on year) a WinXP computer configured to work with the Tech 2 (can be done for free using TIS2000 on earlier models), or a newer computer using the online subscription for the VIN.

I think a VXDiag can be used in place of the Tech 2 but I'm not familiar with that setup; others will likely chime in.
