A drain for the rear ac?Does anyone know what this line is for? I thought it was a vent for the rear--it's not. Kind of above the spare tire.View attachment 373257View attachment 373258View attachment 373259View attachment 373260View attachment 373261
I don't think that's it. Hose looks too small. I think a drain would be under all that stuff in the back towards the passenger side. I could be wrong tho. Thx Mark.A drain for the rear ac?
Did that rig have the load leveling or air suspension RPO codes on the glovebox sticker?I don't think it does. It looks like it's coming from above the rear diff--from the crossmember above the diff. I couldn't see very well, but I think it's tee's off of something up there. You can really see what I'm talking about in the last pic.
I don't think it did. It was already pulled. I THINK he said it came from a Z71, but I'm not sure. I traced it as far as the crossmember above the spare. It looks like it goes into a "T", but since it's lowered I didn't have much room under it to move around--since I didn't jack it super high.Did that rig have the load leveling or air suspension RPO codes on the glovebox sticker?
But, then again, the hose doesn't look like anything that would handle any kind of pressure.
Must be a vent or drain. That appears to be a factory clip attached to the chassis.
How far can you trace it back?

Any chance it is an EVAP vent tube that might have connected at the fuel pump or filler tube? Does it reach over to that area? Anything by the fuel tank look like it is missing a connection?I don't think it did. It was already pulled. I THINK he said it came from a Z71, but I'm not sure. The guy who did it is gonna do the ball joint on my van this Friday--I'm gonna ask him. and tidied up a bit under the hood. Now I can see the coolant level, what a bonus! The old one was pretty ugly for sure.I can't believe you put that filthy hose and rusty hose clip on that beautiful overflow tank!I installed the new coolant overflow tank that you guys pressured me into buying todayand tidied up a bit under the hood. Your dash looks good/clean!New GM/ACDelco Combination Switch. I think PO put aftermarket one in. Was very stiff and would get hung up or down.

Also, just take it to a different Autozone when it craps out again. This is not true. Limited lifetime means as long as you own the car and no damage to the part that would come from incidents outside it's normal operating condition. Now nobody wants to just throw parts under warranty at a problem.
Thanks!Your dash looks good/clean!
Come on man you’re killin me! I cleaned the hoses up and used Silk Shine on all the rubber and plastic. I did not paint the clamps because I figured it would flake off when I opened them up to install ‘em. I actually bought 3 different sizes of expandable woven wrap as well as big enough heat shrink to install on the smaller hoses in order to look like braided line but discovered I couldn’t get it to look right where the tight bends are. I have only received one size of the wrap and no heat shrink due to shipping issues but I did slip that over the tube and taped one end to simulate the heat shrink and then tried pulling the other end to make it tighten up. I have used this on regular, non- formed hose that doesn’t have tight bends and it looks awesome. Not with this hose though, the sharp bends make it look terrible because there’s no way for it to be tight on the inside of the bends. I may revisit this with different hose that I’ll have to buy. So as you can see…I did try. I also swapped out the lousy ribbed plastic overflow hose that came with the tank with my rubber one.I can't believe you put that filthy hose and rusty hose clip on that beautiful overflow tank!
LOL - I know that you know I am just kidding in good-natured fun... Apologies, if it triggers the OCD too badly!
Love the rig! You ain't kidding calling it a rocket!

Edit: OCD was in full swing, no prodding needed!

That vent line looks like the one that attaches to the carbon canister.
