Today was the first day I took it out (straight to the dealership for a check engine light and a check up). Other than the questionable tires, it was a nice ride. My 2015 was horribly bumpy experience (new suspension, but still, horrible). This ride was more pleasant. The speakers are crap and it needs some interior pieces, but I really like it. I’m still considering a 12.1” screen, but I’m trying to find out if a police center console would still fit or not. I’m blessed with carplay, now wireless CarPlay, and I love it. I’m coming from a 2018 Ford police utility turbo. Love it, but there are no audio options at all. It did not come with sync, so the small 4” screen and vanilla audio is all I could ever get. It’s fast as crap, but I need more, so I’m gonna sell it and invest in this truck. The big wheel wells and small rims bother me, but I really need tires so…I need to pull the trigger in new rims and tires, or just stick with these rims that could literally fit on a Volkswagen.

One thing that surprised me was that there are no volume buttons on the steering wheel. I have media controls I guess, but no sound. I’m guessing I can get a new wheel and get that added with no issue since I have the media controls on the wheel?

To be continued…

Dealership looked at it…brand new cats so they figure that’s what’s causing the codes. Underneath, the truck is immaculate, no rust no issues. Fluids, belts, everything…great shape. Just tires for now. Looks like I got a bargain after all!

I’m thinking about sticking with the 17” rims and getting new tires. The 20” on eBay are OEM replicas. I’m not fond of replicas and these will take 5 weeks to come in. Thoughts?

I would stick with the 17s. If you like the ride quality as stated. Glad to hear you are enjoying it and it is is great shape. Sounds like you scored a good deal!

If I had 20s, I’d replace them with 17s, to get more sidewall and the ability to air down off road.

- New General G-Max Justice Police tires.
- Video mirror with front/back cameras, dash cam, front/back simultaneous viewing recording and GPS
- Havis console on the way
- iPad mini mount coming
- 4 quadrant screen

Along with cup holders and a plate for switches to connect to my driving lights, the iPad mini and screen gets mounted in the console. I’m still trying to decide if I want to keep the 8” screen or get the Tesla style 12”.

This is it, nothing done yet, but it’s a real good truck. I didn’t know Tahoes could spin the rear wheels so easy!

Little but. The trucks suspension is so firm, so any kind of vibration, I attributed to the roads. These tires are a smooth ride but there is still a little vibration depending on the road
