Mechman alt & big 3 upgrade ??

Cyber Monday I got a deal on a mechman 370a .I’m wonder if anybody did a big 3 upgrade on there 2015-2018 Tahoe/Yukon . Trying to figure out if I should run 1/0 or 4g ofc ground wires thur the sensor. do I keep the stock ground or completely removed.i need a shorter belt .trying to find the right size gates fleet runner belt to go with the alternator lmk guys

With that many amps 1/0 ofc is mandatory IMO. I’ve always left factory grounds it doesn’t hurt.

Only problem running a 1/0 wires thur the sensor ring .I’ll have to remove the stock ground but looks like I can only fit 1 1/0 wires or run 2 4g ofc wires n Jsut run a 1/0 ofc for the positive alternator to Positive battery

What is the purpose of the sensor ring?

Unless the '15+ RVC sensor is smaller than that of the '07-'14, 1/0 with wrapping easily fits through the sensor. At least, the cable I used, which was ProStar™ 1/0 Welding Cable. It's OD with the jacket is .530". I didn't measure it with the mesh wrap and thick heat shrink on it.

I originally left the factory grounds as-is and had my 1/0 battery ground bypass the sensor. This rendered it useless and I like the function, so I re-did the grounds to how I should've had them in the first place: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/growing-up-doesnt-have-to-suck.93510/post-1615659

So, the 4G that used to be the main ground for the whole truck is now the ground for the body (sheet metal). The original main body ground was the exposed braided flat cable on the driver cylinder head to firewall. It's still there but the 4G on the firewall pinch weld to passenger cylinder head far supersedes it. The smaller factory ground that ran from the core support to the battery now goes to the same stud on the cylinder head as that 4G body ground. The main ground for the whole truck is that 1/0 that goes through the RVC sensor to the frame. The engine is grounded to the frame with 1/0, so there are no weak links in the circuit.
