I just installed my painted handles and mirror caps on the '03 suburban today definitely like the way it looks. Hopefully I'll have time to do the top bumper cap tomorrow.

It's unseasonably warm here for being almost December. Probably about to get extra cold to make up for it. We have lived in this house for 5 years, and last year it got cold enough to freeze the pipes.

Friday after Turkey Day... Raybestos R Series front brake rotors and Raybestos "R" series ceramic pads from RockAuto (After 5% forum discount, they were less than $100 total with taxes & shipped for everything). Went with bargain parts for now. If I get a year or so, I'll be happy with that and put in some coated premium rotors when the time comes.

Also installed a new NAPA (Echlin) ABS sensor for the left front corner. Fixed the anoying ABS light/chimes I would get at highway speeds. Huge thumbs-up on being able to solve that intermittent issue for the cost of a $30 sensor!

After a routine transmission fluid check the other day, I decided it’s a little too brown.. it doesn’t smell burnt, so that’s good. I last drained and filled, with filter change, and vette servo install at 195k miles, and I’m currently at 217, so figure she’s about due.

Trying to locate the best filter.. AC Delco..? Wix..?

Also plan to purchase genuine AC Delco fluid. Does anyone have a good source.? I seem to be running into the same issues with finding parts and fluids with this, as with my Wix oil filters..

I don’t recall if I have the “deep pan” or standard. Would that be in my build sheet, or based on VIN?

Another thing.. I have been using ACDelco oil for the last 1.5 years or so, and am quite happy with it. But can anyone tell me why there are different part numbers on some of the quarts..? I want to ensure this is genuine oil, and not some rip-off..!
So I do indeed have the deep pan. I had scheduled a drain / fill with my mechanic tomorrow (Monday), and decided to order both the Wix filter, as well as the ACDelco genuine part for the deep pan… the Wix filter arrived Saturday, and I’m still waiting for the ACDelco part, which is supposed to get here today.. interesting packaging on my “Wix transmission filter kit”, wouldn’t you say?

 Good thing I decided to order both..! The ACDelco one better show up, and be the right part..!

If you're on your phone just hold your finger on the "Like" button. You'll get a few different options.
