Had my airbag replaced a few weeks ago. The dealer warned me that they might crack my dash doing the replacement and if so it would be on me to pay for replacing it. Like everyone else mine was already cracked in two places. They the airbag replacement and the dash remained exactly as before. No better now worse.

My mechanic said his snap on unit was showing 3 cylinders were misfiring But possible something with the hybrid system is messed up causing the misfire ?? Also some ****** stole his catalytic converters while it was parked waiting for new registration sticker/plates and bunch of wires underneath were cut off. So we all thought it's best for it to go the local GM dealer since they only charge $50 for a full diagnostic check. It has ALL new AC/Delco wires/plugs and all coils tested good. So yes most likely the AFM killed it. I have a full plate at moment with my business so my father is handling it with GM dealer. Possible I might hear about it later this week lol.
Either way, He wont loose out if he has to sell it for parts since it only has 155K miles, LOADED LTZ interior and it's not wrecked or trashed also he only paid $600 for it from his former employer before it went to a surplus auction lol

it was checked for vaccum leaks and the baro dirty injectors etc..(mine were dirty and causing misfire at start single misfire but still)

Called GM today and they confirmed that they will not hold the dealer or themselves responsible for a cracked dash during the airbag replacement. They say that environmental factors have made them brittle and prone to warping over time.
So, roll the dice and let them change it? IF we get into an accident would my front seat passenger be the FIRST one to get injured or killed from these airbags? Last time I checked, there was not a single case tied to a GMT900, no injuries or deaths.

Had mine replaced today. Dash is already cracked and they gave me the warning " we might make it worse ".
It took less than 30 minutes. I placed my ins. card and reg. back in the glove box before leaving and a screw fell our from above in the glove box. I asked them what it was for and they said it was a guide bolt, nothing to worry about.
Glad I found it before it became shrapnel

Well I’ve replaced mine twice and I have to say there are no “guide bolts” so they lied lol. You might push in the tab on the side of your glove box so it opens all the way and have a look up there to see which one they left out.Had mine replaced today. Thanks for the response. I tried looking up there but I may need my wife's smaller frame to get e better angle. I only saw a couple bolt heads and no missing bolt holes.
I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about unless it’s one of the ones with a 10mm bolt head, there’s 4 of those that hold the airbag in. If it’s one of the 7mm black ones then it’s just one of the trim screws. In which case if you start hearing a rattle you’ll know to investigate further.
