No worries man, you’re always a huge help to many of us. When you have a minute, I’d like your thoughts on either a 145A factory / reman alternator, or a 160A. I’ll have to figure out the belt length as well if I go with the 160A I guess, which sucks, since my Gates micro-v fleet green belt just arrived yesterday. Lol.
On another note, do you know if the 160A was an upgrade, due to the efan change in 2005?
You could always send the belt back. This is the belt that worked for me when I swapped to the 160 amp alt. 20210618_133656.jpg

Sweet. Thanks T! Was this on your 6.0..? I wonder if the idlers, tensioners, etc.. are the same size / distance apart..? I’d expect so, but just wondering.

@Sam Harris You could try this one. I'm not sure if you have pwr fold or not.

You could always pop the mirror and leds out. I ordered from them before and the mirror itself (the glass)looked fine.
Sorry if it was a confusing post. I only intend to replace the mirror glass. I purchased a replacement DL3 from an eBay seller, and it turned out to be a lot looser than the one I was planning to replace..!

Not confusing. You could always combine the 2 to make 1 good one. The glass just pops off--of course be careful.
This is what the leds look like under the glass.20190511_135431.jpg20190511_135519.jpg

Something I have been wanting to do for a long time but put it off for some reason... Today, I replaced my headlights, turn signal lights and fog lamps along with put a new gold Bow tie for the front of the vehicle. On the back, I replaced both license plate lights with new LED's which look and work much better! Last week, I got my headliner redone by an upholstery shop locally. Looks like new! It is the little things that add up to make a big difference in the look and enjoyment of driving these old vehicles.

So I’ve replaced both mirrors on the Yukon at one time or another. The driver side was shot when I bought it. Now, the passenger side has several LEDs out, and I’m looking for a better replacement. Looking on RA, they have quite a variety, but the ones that would be correct are $150-200, and still not OEM. Does anyone have suggestions, or a part number..? I’m guessing the OEM is no longer made / available. It has heat, turn indicator, and auto-darkening.

ETA:
ok, so OEM is available, for $300+… I don’t think I want to spend that on a damn side mirror, but I do want all the original features. Most aftermarket ones are not auto-darkening.
So I’ll edit my request.. lol. Looks like the OEM part is: 88944392, which has heat, turn indicator and auto-darkening.

Does anyone have a decent aftermarket replacement that has these features, and you’re happy with it? I replaced this one probably about 18 months ago, maybe less, and the LEDs are already going out
pretty sure if you search ebay, you can find just the mirror.

Oh I know this. I’ve replaced both. I was hoping to find someone who had replaced theirs with maybe a Dorman or something not quite so no-name, and had them last longer.
One might wonder if the solder joints might just need to be reflowed, considering the issues we've all had with other components and the lead-free solder.
This is a good plan… since there are the 3 middle ones out, I think I’ll try the chip in the middle as well, as there are 3 separate chips in there also. (Of course, being careful not to overheat it)

Thats cool! Every time I google "Sugar Loaf Mountian" Yours and another one in GA pop up before mine since it's really more like a bump compared to 9300'. Whenever I go back to CO for a vacation I might have to check your Sugar loaf out.
Really cool hiking trails, bears, moose, mountain lions, etc.. Really beautiful up there. No cell phone reception either! Great place to go to, to get unplugged.

Did you replace the headlight and turn signal housings, or just the bulbs? A few months back I replaced all bulbs front and rear, my front turn signal/DRL housings, and my fog light housings and it made the truck look almost new again. It was pretty cool seeing what it looked like when I bought it over 15 years ago! Sometimes the slow degradation over time isn't very noticeable to us until it's really bad.

So, looking at the 145A & 160A alternators, the 145A has a 4 pin connector, and the 160A has a 2 pin. I’m not sure about swapping a harness, or if you’d have to splice wiring or what. You did the swap @Tonyrodz ?

I have used a couple of the cheap replacement mirror glass assemblies with mixed success. Some of them look like a funhouse mirror so I read reviews and go from there. Amazon takes them back if they don’t look right so I buy through them. But when faced with $300+ for an OEM glass I figure it’s worth it even if it takes me 3 tries until I’m happy. Never had any LED’s go out though.

@Sam Harris. Same here. Bought 3 mirrors from Amazon and they all sucked. Funhouse look. Returned them. Found KoolVue brand worked the best on Drivers side. Clear view and defrost worked pretty good. Unfortunately, just saw no longer available through Amazon.
