Sam, wondering about followup on this. Have you had any more CELs due to this? I'm about to do some tests on mine since I'm getting the P0455 code from time to time and my evap monitor doesn't seem to complete.
Hey Steve. Yes this seems to have addressed the P0455, thankfully. Just did the gas cap first (it needed a new tether anyway), still got the P0455. But after replacing the vapor purge valve solenoid, it’s been CEL free for several weeks! [emoji106][emoji16]

Washed, clayed and waxed the Denali today. I also put the new grill on and went with the black badge. I'm happy. (Red badge was a pita to take the dip off it, plus the chrome was pitting)

Nice, Sam! I'm going to run a few tests on mine with the Tech 2; I'm thinking that I somewhat understand the system. I was able to pull vacuum on the whole system a month ago, just messin' around, so I know the purge valve opens and the vent valve closes. Just not sure if one is intermittent, and I know the purge valves can be. Just need to be sure that the tank pressure sensor is working. My purge valve is probably OE. Flex calls for an AC Delco 214646 purge valve -- if you remember, is that what you used for yours (since I know your Yukon is Flex)?

I didn’t find my order, but in my notes, I have:

1997279 : GM OEM: vapor purge valve solenoid (@ intake)

Here’s the box:

View attachment 280069 View attachment 280070 I applied cerakote March 13th. It’s rained and been washed several times since then. Still looking good, I have done nothing but wash with my mitt with soap. 2 and half months is impressive, showing no signs of needing reapplication so far
Looking good! I still need to get mine applied! Never have the time to properly clean all the plastics..!

Not today but I bought mine yesterday! 2005 Yukon XL SLT 4x4. PO painted it last year. I can’t stand the smoked headlights, so I ordered new housings front and rear this morning.

Don’t worry new heads and tails are already on the way! The wheels are going to stay for a little while. I have big plans for this but with that comes a big budget, and the tires are almost brand new.

Understand. I bought wheels and tires, but had just put new shoes on the factory wheels, so waited almost a year to change them.

And, mounted a fire extinguisher the other day finally. Went with the seat rail mount, so it would be close at hand if needed. The price for the mount was absolutely ridiculous. If I had any fabrication skills whatsoever, would have just built my own bracket. (Mounted to the front of the seat on the drinker side)

All right you guys have convinced me so I just ordered the Cerakote. I need to either apply trim dressing or this so this it is. I sure wish doing detail work was as easy as ordering products. I don’t know how many waxes and coatings I have on the shelf but not much on the trucks dammit.

my truck took me maybe 20 minutes and 4 packets. you literally just wipe it on. and its all glossy as you wipe. cant miss where you've already been with the wipe. im pretty amazed how good it looks instantly.
