Question for those of you with yukons (non xl) that got the Escalade roof racks. Do any of you know the length from bolt holes to bolt holes?
I found a set locally but the guy can't remember if they came of an ext or regular Escalade but he has the measurements. Id compare it to my truck but my friend is looking at then for me because I'm at the hospital now with my wife and newborn daughter :)
Not bolt hole to bolt hole but the overall length is approximately 70 1/2” so if he takes the end caps and the center piece and lay them together it should be close to that. Or you could use the base gasket pieces. The XL’s would have to be 6” or so longer all together. Now get back to that baby sheesh!

How about measuring one of the rails...!? [emoji3166]

I just measured the bottom of one rail (same length as the middle-bottom plastic gasket underneath the rail), and it’s 51”

That should be your length. [emoji106][emoji631]

Sounds like his is from the longbody.

We can’t measure the holes without taking them apart, that’s why we are giving you outside dimensions. I’m not going to disassemble mine to find the mounting holes when he can measure the actual end to end of the whole thing or the length of the center section. Does that make more sense?

I'll see if I can get an end to end measurement

So, ever since I’ve owned the truck, I’ll periodically have “Service 4x4 System”, and odd behavior with the Transfer Case. It will randomly start
In Auto, when it was left in 2wd, and usually reset itself after a power off / on.. this morning, I started her up, and when I got in, she’s indicating 4lo... I was
pretty confident it wasn’t in 4lo, and as soon as I moved the vehicle, suspicion was confirmed.

However, driving the kiddo to school, I immediately noticed the transmission was shifting up way too early. I’d be going 15-20 through the neighborhood, and she’s in 4th gear, just crawling, and with a little vibration, I guess just because it was such a high gear for the speed. This definitely alarmed me.

So I manually shifted, and that worked fine. Got her home, got out the Tech2, and eventually was able to pull a C0327 code, which is for the decoder ring, and there’s a TSB for it. Ok, no biggie, I’ve been waiting for this. Got the replacement in, here’s the old one.. only pic I took:

So I’m glad about that. Only, I’m pretty concerned with how the trans was acting this morning... it seemed like once it warmed up, she shifted fine in drive, and I was able to shift 1,2,3 just fine before she warmed up. I’m guessing the tcase saying it was in 4lo caused the trans to shift oddly, since I was going well over any speed you’d be at in 4lo.. any thoughts on this..? I’m crossing my fingers that I don’t need to order that trans yet... but I do want to figure out exactly what I’m getting, and order soon, since it’s just a matter of time.

Oh, and I did install my new, genuine GM interior part today. Rough install...!

It was probably shifting like it was in lo range because that’s what it thought was going on so I would just monitor it. If it happens after you fix the other problem, that’s the time to worry. I used to have a decoder ring when I was a kid...

Hehe. Me too.. that one was way cooler than the grown up version! Yeah, I think that’s all it was. Thankfully, she’s running normally so far this morning, so I think it was just due to the tcase telling the trans “we’re in 4lo!”.. thanks Mark.

Sounds good. That tip kind of looks like a Denali stock tip. Does it have a low throaty growl when you stomp on it?

The tips are 7.5" ovals, made to fill the bumper cutout on a 4th gen F-body.

I didn't use them on my T/A:

But yes, it's nice and throaty cruising around and opens up at WOT since it's nearly a straight through design. I'll get the GoPro under it and go drive around. It might be *too* loud for me in my old age. However, I think a set of long tubes would really enhance it.

I tried getting a pic under the truck--****** is too damn low! Can't even see a center line.
You need to have the spare removed, then you have to get under where you can stick your head up there and see the top of the differential. Probably need ramps under the rear wheels.

Had to replace the fan clutch assembly. Was causing over-heating. Thought about just going ahead with the e-fan conversion, but wasn't quite ready for all that.

Got a new stainless hose made for the rear center brake line that was incorrect in the Goodridge kit. Now just need to get it installed.

So that center hose in that kit is defective?? My rig is an 05. Planning on checking under rear end tomorrow during the day.
