what I used was actually a 1/4” nut driver with a spring shaft. I’ve had it since 1980, when my mechanic grandpa gave it to me. Still in production.

Installed my Belltech 3/4" kit this weekend. It dropped 2-13/16" up front and about 3-3/4" in the back... right on Belltech. Tried to do the free travel mod but my recip saw wasn't strong enough. Need to find a good shop to do it now. Also tons of weird noises (almost like grinding) that I'm hoping is just the fenderliner rub.

Check the inside sidewalls of your rear tires to make sure the shock bolts aren’t grinding grooves in them. You’ll probably need to reverse those bolts so the bolt heads face the tires and not the threaded portion of the bolts. It’s kind of a PIA to do.

There were actually four screws. The one just above the transmission tunnel was inset too far for a standard socket, but not far enough to allow an extension to clear. That screw won’t go back in. It’ll either be 2 or 3.

Did you pull the carpet and pad out from there for more room?

Maybe. We found a hand sized wet spot of water under the cargo liner in the back today. My daughter said she could make out the faint outline of water stains at the back of the headliner. I guess it's time to pull the roof rails off and reseal them?

Check the oval shaped grommet for the gate harness.

mines on the driverside left bottom of dash. When you pull the fuse box cover there is the round hollow dash support, apparently im getting water in from up above, it’s hitting that round support, pooling inside, then when I move the truck it drips out onto the kick plate by the ebrake leaving rusty water stains.
The truck sits on a slant, they way my driveway is, passenger side a little lower than driver side. I have a feeling it’s coming in somewhere around the edge of the windshield, door seal or onstar antenna..
I feel like it’s been leaking since new but since it was garaged for the first 6 years of life i never paid attention but I remember a few times that my left foot got dripped on while driving during a heavy rain but I ignored it because I just closed the door or something like that... meh, I’ll find it soon....

Good looking out! I could see how that bolt could be an issue, but I have the fender liner in between mine and the tire and it's not even scuffed. Maybe after my alignment today the noises will improve (some of them are from up front).

I’ve had a leak there on thecopcar. A bit of coax cable seal fixed it right up.

As much as it pains me to do it.......I just dropped the PPV off to have the Circle D converter installed.

Time and weather are not working with me right now and my dyno appointment is set, last available slot for the year.

Tomorrow I have time, so I will be installing the new fuel rails and Esky injectors

Got the pan and the front cover undone last night.
Was trying to not fully remove the front axle this time around.
Ran into a slight issue, can't seem to get it to work.
And it was a pita to get to the pan bolts.


I tried to pivot the diff/pumpkin side down, but the input shaft binds on the truck for a good tilt.
guessing i need to pivot the other side?


Next plan, dropping the front axle all the way out.


Easy to do, but pivoting that fkn thing back in is a pita.



Oh well, easier to get a good solid torque reading when reinstalling the pan.
