HA! How the fu$@ are you supposed to know where he puts stuff?? You better watch HIS ass too!!
I still have the same tuned pcm from my 1st 6.0. So I guess if he puts anything other then a 6.0-- will it run and idle ok still? Going with the same spec'd cam as before.

Yeah I wasn't real impressed when he asked me that. I should have said "They are forged H beam rods".

I'm fairly certain it won't run right on the tune for the cammed 6.0. At a minimum, it would be extremely rich and probably have a high hanging idle from to much base airflow.

Do you have tuning software? You can download the tune and load it to the new PCM. I think they make a new programming software for free now... it only downloads and programs though. you cannot tune. It works on android phones, I cannot recall the name od it?

I don't have any software to tune. Wish I knew how to do that. Mine was tuned previously with the same cam specs as the replacement. That's why I got the cam that I did. I want to get the pcm tuned to turn on fans. Someone posted a link to a guy who does that for $50--but I can't find the link. Anyone know who I'm talking about?

Well, if it runs correctly hopefully he did the right thing. I've lost all faith and trust in this kid :(

How did you have it tuned before? EFI or HPT? and did you send the pcm in or did you have someone come out in person? If you have HPT I can turn the fans on for free.

DAMN! Wish I knew Dan. The shoo that originally did the cam(mechanical)work tuned it. I have no idea what they used to tune, and he was a douchebag! He put a hole in my newish condenser, and when I told him he basically called me a liar. I spent over 7k with him too. I told him to go FU@$ himself after he said that. Any way to tell what he used to tune?

Does it matter which one they used so long as it’s not locked? I don’t know anything about tuning, I’m just asking from what I’ve read here and there...

Without a device no I don't believe so. Basically, I would have to either see the truck in person and use my HPT device to connect to it. Or you find one to borrow to pull your current tune off with and email it to me or someone else with HPT. Fans are super easy to add takes less than 10 minutes but if your ECU isn't already unlocked by HPT then it would cost $100 in credits.

The same should apply to EFI live I just don't know much about it anymore. Idk what happened to my EFI autocal but I don't remember selling it, so it might be laying at the bottom of some parts pile.

Yes, it does matter because that's how the tuning software companies make their money. If someone paid EFI Live to unlock their ECU then tried to tune with HPT essentially HPT would make no money off that ECU. When I swapped from EFI to HPT I had to pay again.

That’s good to know for future purposes! Is one better than the other? Just wondering why you switched

Sux. I'm mentally getting burned out on this whole ordeal. All I've wanted was a quick Tahoe and I've been dragged to hell and back just to do that!!

I thought the credits were tied to interface and not the PCM? If not, can you please share how to do it? I have HPT as well

Huh I do remember this being a thing several years ago maybe they got rid of it with the new MPVII. The only reason I say that is I did not have to pay to retune my vehicles when I upgraded devices and I recently tuned my buddies avalanche which I had never touched and was never prompted to use credits.

But don't take my word for it let me do some research I've been wrong before.

I have the software and was tuning my LT1 build years ago for a new cam. that motor was stupid fun. Got the valves opening better part of an inch. Sounded like a nascar especially because I had straight pipes haha

The fuel maps are a PITA so I ended up just adjusting overall trim I think, idle speed, and a few other things. Then I mailed PCM off to a shop that had a tune for my cam. I gave up haha Nearly impossible to tune without a dyno and wide bad O2.

I boight HP tuners for my vette as I was going to buy a super charger or twin turbos... then called tobbn place the order for a supercharger and litterally changed my mind on the phone haha I can already break tires loose in 4th gear. supercharger would just be stupid unusable levels of power. I was told tuning foe forced induction is much easier than a cam so bought the programmer. thankfully works on my truck too :) I would swap the tune over for you if you were here in AZ :/

Is fun to have software tho can make little tweeks here and there. I also wish I knew name of the free program to download amd flash the PCM then you could just transfer your tune to the new motor assume is same size, cam, and injectors.

So to let you all know i used BauerPerformance to get my ecu tuned to turn on the fans. I did not get the ecu performance tuned cause its the family hauler, just wanted to get the fans on. I follow a guy on youtube by the name of EndlessWishlist which he sent his ecu out to them and they tuned if for $55 including return shipping. For the $55 he'll do the tune for your truck, he is also on facebook if you all want to look him up.

@Tonyrodz i know you were looking for someone to do this to your ecu.

Took a little time, but I found it

I called and as soon as I get my Hoe back I'm gonna send out the pcm to get the fans activated. Anyone know a good temp to turn fans on and off? He usually does them on at 230 and off around 210-220, which I think is too high. Also I constantly have a soft code for the maf sensor. It doesn't have a cel, but it's always stored and I'll never pass NJ inspection. He can turn that off he said. He also said it probably sets it because it might be maxed out in its parameters. Any negative affects to doing that? Will it run rich or like crap? @Dantheman1540 :D?

I'll have to check to see what temp I have my fans coming on now but I have a 160* T stat so I think I lowered mine more than normal. If I remember correctly My stage 1 comes on at 200* stage 2 at 219* and off at 199*. Also, fans shut off at 45mph I know that for a fact because I just changed it.

Huh the MAF CEL tells me whoever tuned it before put the truck into speed density mode by disabling the MAF and never deactivated the MAF CEL. Which I usually leave on when I'm temporarily in SD so I don't forget. Anyway, if the MAF already isn't reading then yeah turn that CEL off and be happy. I have mine in SD only and I'm about to remove the MAF completely by running a separate IAT sensor.

What Code is the MAF exactly? Is it P0103?

SO does this mean you have the truck back!!??!!??!!??!!??!!??!!??!!??!!??!!??!!??!!??!!??
