Jim!! Great to have you back around. I wondered what happened to you--hoping you were ok! Good news--you're ok lol! Sux about the Formula. I would've said much worse to that stupid woman.
Now you have 2 Eskys. Lucky SOB. Have you decided what you're gonna do with the 'Bird? You could always drag it along to the new house. I'm sure you already know--sub frames aren't too bad--especially if you have a lift. I know with your skills you'll probably knock it out in an afternoon.
I'm glad you were able to keep the home in the family, I know that was super important to your father. Happy Father's Day btw .
Yeah, I’m still kicking. Lol. Apologize for my absence but I didn’t have much free time and very little to add to the group while being cooped up. The Bird is definitely coming with me. I’m ordering a new subframe, planned on it anyway but wasn’t gonna order until the engine was complete and ready to drop in. My plan for this thing was to keep it running and driving so I could enjoy it on occasion while I got things ready for a major reconstruction and heart transplant. I gave up my Denali for this thing because I was just putting way too much power and money into a SUV. I wanted a good handling vehicle and something that is better suited for some boost. Had to be pre-emissions, no t-tops, and I wanted a manual trans. This car fit the bill perfectly and I just hope the body is ok and not tweaked. Door and fender gaps still look good and door opens and closes easily so I think it should be ok. The subframe that I’m gonna buy is for an LS, all tubular and also going with tubular adjustable a-arms and Viking coil overs. I’m just not ready with the LS yet so it’s pointless to order a subframe that I won’t be using in the future.
I’ve been trying to help my parents clean out their house lately. I even went back to afternoons because our babysitter ended up going back to work now that things are starting to open back up so I made the decision to be here for Julianna during the day. Works out because I’ll head over to my parents and help box stuff up and then leave Jules with my mom until Jess gets off and picks her up. They’re still house hunting but they got their money already. It worked out for me because I have the deed to my house. I bought it in cash 9 years ago. So what I did was refinance mine and paid them cash. They’ll use a portion of their retirement for their new house, stay on the deed at the house I’m moving into, we have a contract written up so my siblings can’t screw me but it’s so my taxes stay low, they don’t have to pay taxes on money and I don’t pay capital gains when I sell mine because it’ll just show I’m paying off the refi loan I just took out. It’s a crazy twisted web but I figured out the best way for everyone. This also gives me time to redo some things over there like paint and carpet before I move in and then completely move, clean up mine and make a few repairs before sale. If market drops out, I’ll just rent mine out. I think I’m set.
Maybe I just share too much. Hahaha
Happy Father’s Day back at ya.

I gotta include a few pics so here ya go.

Sounds like you have a good game plan going. Hopefully you find some old goodies from when you were a kid and left behind. How do the kids feel about moving? Will they be going to a different school district? Gotta get your plans ready for the bigger garage with the built in lift now ;):D! Glad you're back buddy!

Same school district for Jack. Josh lives with his mom full time so he only comes over on weekends anyway. Julianna will be at a different school but she only had 1/2 year as a full time kindergartener because of the virus so shouldn’t be that big of a deal for her. They all have their own rooms now so that will stay the same. Jack will have a room in the basement when we move that I built when I was 15. Gotta check the rafters for old playboys first. There’s also a living room with a fridge down there so he will be in heaven. Julianna and Josh will both have rooms up stairs along with our master. It is a better fit for our family and I planned on moving before summer was over anyway, it just worked out with my parents wanting to go and dad wanting house to stay in family. I’m gonna miss my garage thou. Going from a 3-3/4 to 2-1/2 is gonna suck but I’ll gain a basement for storage which will help. But like I said, I’m gonna add on to it and see if I can go 46 x 30. I’d like to have 2 deep and 4 wide.

This pic is from June 16th 9 years ago when we moved in.

Damn, I'd miss that garage too. But like you said--you're gonna add on, so you can do it the way it suits you--which is great. Like you said, your parents home is a much better fit for the family. Nice. It's all gonna work out great. Hey....if there's any old Playboys they might be worth $$ lol! Double bonus :D

Took the kids up north for the 4th. We had a good time and blew off $500 worth of fireworks. Got to the fireworks warehouse an hour before they closed on the 4th, purposely of course, and said I have $500 cash and I need some big stuff!! We must have blown off 100 5” mortars, about 10 boxes of the small displays, I probably have 2- 5 gal buckets left of black cats and 2- 5 gal buckets of bottle rockets. I was lighting sparklers 4 at a time and letting Julianna run with them. I got tired of lighting off fireworks.
Here was Julianna saying hi to everyone on the 4th.

We spent some time down at the beach so she could play in the lake. It was a hot weekend.

It was almost to the point of being miserable. Even Lola thought it was too sunny.

I spent close to 5 hours with a heat gun and Goof Off and only got one side of this decal off. Did I mention how miserable it was?

My brother and I spent some time lining up the trailers at the back of the property. He’s got his 2 place, then there’s my 2 place, then our 19’ SeaRay boat and trailer, 12’ John boat on trailer, 5x8 utility trailer and then we stuck this big behemoth back there. While moving trailers around we disturbed a hornets nest that was on the bottom of his 2 place trailer. Needless to say, I got stung 15 times in my legs!! That sucked. And the next few days I proceeded to get really bad sun burn on my legs, arms, face and neck. It was in the mid 90’s and not a cloud in the sky. Not my ideal weather.

I didn’t swell up from the stings but it still hurt like hell. Somehow Julianna had her lip swell up. She said it was a mosquito bite but I don’t think it was. It lasted about 30 hrs even with me giving her 12.5 ml of children’s Benadryl. I’m not sure what it was from. She said she didn’t hit it, fall down or get stung. I dunno?

Now before I get DCFS knocking at my door, I wouldn’t turn my 6 year old loose with a loaded firearm. These were unloaded BB guns that belong to the boys. So no, they aren’t real but yes, I did let Julianna shoot them!! Hahaha. Like i wasn’t gonna let her!!

She was more interested in riding a go kart than shooting a gun!

The most screwed up part is my kids will still tell me, dad, I’m bored. There’s nothing to do! Bikes to ride down to the lake that’s 1/2 block away, BB guns, 2 go karts, 2 dirt bikes an 80 and a 125, and a Honda Odyssey 350.

Both front and rear on right side! 2 rims, 2 wheels and probably TPMS sensors cuz she drove 1/4 mile to pull into Statesville Prison maintenance lot. Wtf!! Plus the $90 tow bill. She did offer to pay me back for the tow, so there’s that.

Ouch! Main reason I've stuck with 20"s but still what brand are those?

That's some serious wheel damage! I'd be reaching out to the wheel manufacturer on that, pothole or not.

Do the cracks go all around the wheel? That's wild.
About 1/4 way around the wheel. Tore that thing up good. I didn’t see the pothole yet, I had to come to work at 11am. But I will go take a look 2mrw and take pictures. If I can get the city to pay then that would be nice but I’m not holding my breath.

WOW!! I've never seen damage like that from a pothole. Def gotta post up a pic of that one! If it played out like it said she did, she's SUPER LUCKY!!
You don’t see the barrel break like that too often. This sucks. Hunting down rims now, tires in stock so maybe by Saturday it’ll be rolling again. I’m tempted to get some steel wheels and hub caps and tell her, there ya go!!

I was gonna have her go take pics of the hole she hit but then I thought about it and I don’t want to have to buy another set of 22’s for the other Caddy! I threw her the keys on my way out the door and told her to try not to screw up Jack’s Esky too. She didn’t appreciate that none. I know it was an accident but it irritates me when people don’t take responsibility. The whole, “it wasn’t my fault” attitude adds insult to injury. We were standing there waiting for the tow truck, I’m tired as hell, crabby and now pissed off so I started pointing out the cars as they past by. “See that one? There’s another one. Look at that car. Wow, even a semi truck.” She asks, what about it? “They all manage to somehow still have air in their ******* tires!”
Yeah, I’m a dick. But seriously, this had to happen because she wasn’t paying attention to driving the damn vehicle. Just a cost that could have been avoided when I already have so much other shit on my plate.
Jumped on the bike and came to work figuring the little time behind bars would help cool me down. It didn’t.
