Does anyone know what this thing is? I was moving my passenger front seat all the way forward and heard the metal on metal sound of this rubbing and reached under from the back and found this. It does not go on the seat, I am assuming. I think it is from elsewhere and found it's way to that place.

Ok, I was thinking it may well be something from back there in the jack area but never saw anything like that when I did remove the jack once because of a flat tire on the road. I guess it has been under that seat the whole time I have owned it. I bet it is a PITA to reinstall. Really looking forward to messing with it tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

it actually holds the tools in the bag, not the jack the three bars and the lug wrench. the jack gets turned till its tight in the mount that part gets screwed to a hook that hooks the body of the jack then holds the two wheel chocks and you clip the bag in that part then screw that part on the end of the hook.

“Hooks the body of the jack” Can you get your jack out without removing this piece? You can’t on mine.

Have a pic of that whole deal? I pulled mine out once and I just threw that sucker back in there.

just checked my manual. it holds the tools to the outside wall in that hole. the hook has its own wing nut to hold the chocks to the jack body.

So, it looks like the bag of tools goes in first and then the jack goes after. The pic on the left looks just like my hidey hole for the jack and tools.

I guess I had similar problems with my jack equipment. I found this pic in my Tahoe folder from my 03. Hope it helps make it a bit clearer for you.

Now I need to figure out where this hook goes!

Yea, I have the hook and the other mount plate and now I know what this part is and how to install. Thanks, Tony.

Mine was never put back properly great picture Tony. I Bought a small floor jack that I keep in the truck at all times just in case I have a flat. I also have a breaker bar with a lug nut socket on it I keep in the truck as well.

I sadly don't have that bag in my truck.
In the manual it's say that would be placed under rear seat, but have nothing left there. I have the jack in the trunk but where you have your things I have a aftermarket Amplifier and guess my truck didn't even come with your hocks.

Jack first, then tools on mine.
