Picked up driveshaft this morning.

He asked what I painted the shaft with because it wasn’t like any other paint he wire wheeled off. Haha. I told him, it’s POR15, it’s not meant to come off. He said he got it but it took a while and he only removed the paint on the end where he had to weld. They slapped on some sort of coating, it’s soft like an under coating. Looks good though. Cost me $172. Whatever. Put it in and topped off the transfer case because when I had the front of vehicle on stands, I couldn’t get the full amount in. So with front on ground and on stands in the rear, I topped it off.

I did the fast learn but it failed on first attempt. Let it sit for 5 minutes and then reset the learn process and did it again. Took the second time thankfully. It does all sorts of crazy shit while going thru process. Sorry, my GoPro was dead so I didn’t record it. But what it does is fill the clutches thru the gears, bangs and whines and the RPMs raise then lower. It’s strange but it cuts down on the time it takes for the trans to learn how much fluid it takes to fill the clutches. Then after it completed it won’t go into gear. It’s neutral no matter what you select. So I’m waiting for it to clear and then I’ll take it for test drive. I need to go thru emissions today because the damn license plate sticker is expired and I can’t get a new one until it goes thru emissions but because I’ve had the battery disconnected, I need to drive it so it goes thru drive cycles so the ECM can check all the emissions crap before it’ll pass. But I’m on the home stretch and I can almost call this chapter done. Thank god. Back to my sled!!

Been a few days of driving it and still hasn’t gone thru the evap system diagnosis. It’s my fault though. I filled the tank and it won’t do it’s test unless the tank is between 1/4 and 3/4. I’m just at 3/4 now so it should be any day. I hope it’s soon before I get a ticket for driving on expired tags and my license expired on 11/11. I plan on taking care of both as soon as this thing gets through emissions. I didn’t know about my license until I went to the bank the other day and they wouldn’t give me my money because my license.

I’m hesitant to give my update. With all the bad luck I’ve been reading on here, I don’t want to jinx myself. Esky made it thru emissions and is running great. Shifts smooth and actually has a little more power now that the exhaust manifold bolts are fixed. The emissions station report even read that the evap system “not ready” but it still got a green flag and a PASS. The Camry is gone 2mrw I’m also glad to report.
Sled is ready to head north after I make a few tweaks this week. I’m buying an enclosed 26’ deckover snowmobile trailer this weekend so we don’t have to load a sled into the bed of my brothers truck and him pull a 2 place and me pull a 2 place.

I’ll end up selling one of these 2 place trailers. Mine was just recently decked and I’ve owned it since new so we might ditch his. He bought it couple years ago because we needed more than just a 2 place and he didn’t want to spend $8k for an enclosed at the time. Neither did I really.

But now I came across a Forest River all aluminum trailer and it’s either now or never. I’ve looked at a few Haulmark trailers but they were steel frame which are heavier and having a steel trailer that is only used when the roads are ****** with slush and salt, not a good combo. I’m gonna have to remove the SkiDoo decals before I even think about pulling it up north loaded with Yamaha and Arctic Cat sleds.

And I’m also going in halves with my brother on a ‘11 Yamaha Apex for my dad. It’s got Fox Float shocks and electronic power steering, these sleds ride great. He doesn’t like the rider forward feel that our Vipers have but he loves the 4 stroke power and dependability. My brother and I both want him to be able to continue to ride with us and his ‘01 Yamaha SXR is kicking his ass. You can see it when he gets off of it, he only does 15MPH when the trail gets anything other than flat, and my mom says he doesn’t need to buy another sled because she thinks he only has maybe 2 seasons left of riding. So we are buying this thing for him and he’s gonna prove her wrong and ride at least another 5. We have 3 generations out there on the trail when we go up. It’s gotta be a great feeling for him and I’m gonna do whatever I can to help him keep going. My brother feels the same way.

The dmv puts a hold on your entire bank account because of vehicle registration?
