Just curious--is there a way of quieting the metal noise from the opening of the drawer? Seems a but loud for stealth. Maybe some more of those velvet strips in some strategic places.

Grease on the tracks would help considerably. I striped all of it off with carb cleaner getting rid of the metal shavings left from cutting/drilling. I never did put any grease back on the tracks before the final install.

AND its much quieter and doesn't "bounce" with an heavy object in it..

I hope it holds up to years of use! Projects like these are the ones you wish had the skill to replicate and enjoy for a lifetime lol—I may be biased being that I love the conceal carry, easy access, the hidden compartment, and who doesn’t like to see a firearm nestled in its sleeping position before the storm LOL

def gotta quiet the mechanism or just the noise from it popping...then you would have a reallllly nice piece there. Not that the work thus far has not been adequate. It has been very thorough I just think like others have mentioned that making it more stealth would be very beneficial to its overall purpose.

cool idea and nice craftsmanship. maybe use a weaker spring to quiet it down a little.

Thanks David, yeah if I ever have to pull it out for any reason Ill probably do just that. I think when I was building it I was still in the mindset of "quick" access,. but its more of a safe than anything else.
