yeah Cali is also supposed to be 10%. Ethanols cheaper than gasoline though- so they all push it a bit.

In Iowa, the land of corn, it’s a struggle to even find non-ethanol if want to. They have 10% or 15% or E85. If you do find it, your looking at 91 or higher octane.

Yeah it’s hard to find “clear” gas here too, and if you do it’s $4.00 a gallon or more.

A little cheaper here in my part of Iowa. 87 & 89 with 10% & 15% respectively are right around $2.40 range and 91 is around $3.25.

On the way down to LA it seemed for me that the gas was 12.2% alcohol. I need to check again now that we’re back in oregon next time I fill up. Found it odd that it didn’t even move by 0.1 of a percent from two different fuel stations.

Seen that too sometimes, maybe the same truck hit both stations or the fuel came from the same wholesaler/depot/whatever.

All the pumps around here have the sticker saying "may contain up to 10% ethanol", but it used to be only the "winter mix" fuel that did, and a slight mpg decrease with it.

This is the first vehicle I've owned (well except for the 2011 which I only had for 2 months) that has an ethanol sensor. I've only had a Bluetooth OBD dongle and app to be able to read the alcohol % since last fall and this is the first time I've checked while just running straight 93 octane fuel, not E85 or a mix.

Finally changed the Solid State Relay (SSR) for the Integrated Trailer Brake Control Module (ITBCM). Kept getting code C-1114-00, after fording deep water, then intermittently and finally continuously. Quick ignition cycle checks out ok.

So for future viewers, on a 2009 Yukon XL and a 2009 Tahoe, it is located in front of the fuel tank, between it and the ABS Pump. The part number as of this writing is 20904439.

I’m very jealous of the NNBSs that havs the factor TBC. Aftermarket cobtrollers always look tacky. I’ve read that you can’t add the factory controller to a vehicle that didn’t ship with it. (I’m convinced that just like deleting Z55- you could in theroy, but would probably have to have a dealer computer and flash the BCM)

Glad you finally found it!

diagnostics/powertrain/engine control module/data display/exhaust aftertreatment
in the aftertreatment data list it will show twc temperature

Just some preliminary info, I have the Tech2 hooked up and I had to make a short run through the neighborhood a couple blocks to drop some stuff off and back. Didn't go over 25 mph. I'll be heading out onto the freeway in about an hour to pick up some dinner about 10 miles away and will get more info under heavier acceleration and higher speeds.

When I first started temps were about mid 800's. While driving they got up to about 1150-1175, then would go down to the 900's while idling.

I also noticed today that the rubber boot around my shift lever is torn and has some grease around the area. Can this be replaced without removing the lever or opening up the column? Looks like the base probably just pops off at the column and just slides off the lever?

I wonder if i should just reset the fuel trims, I've never done it before but I was reading on the ls1tech website they say to reset the fuel trims if you change anything that makes the engine breath different and I added the cai and 90mm tb when I first got the truck, I just don't want to mess anything up, what do you think @swathdiver

You didn’t state 91 without ethanol thus the confusion so I thought you were talking normal premium. We don’t have that option except at a very few stations, our normal premium is 91-92 octane but with ethanol. The stations that have clear have normal premium too. West coast has the highest gas prices in the lower 48. Highest is Cali, then Washington, then Oregon. Lucky us. At least in Oregon we just sit in the car and an attendant fills the tank.

In NJ it's illegal to pump your own--just sayin'.

It has to come off the small end of the shifter so if you can accomplish that without doing either of those two, let me know. I’ve got a few other jobs for you lol.
