The bottom of the console "bucket" is oddly shaped to accommodate the BOSE amp and rack that sit beneath it. With the amp removed, I could take off the bottom of the "bucket" and extend it all the way down. It would be huge in there....

Almost...

I've taken over the living room ottoman so...Im getting "those" occasional stares from the wife...
Every time I catch a sideways glimpse from her, I start singing and I vacuum up the drill/Dremel shavings I've made...:D

So I cut out the middle section of the rear h-vac control panel and heated up my ABS sheet to conform to the shape. The back side looks ugly but the front will look ok when finished...

I bought some Dry-Erase board from the local hardware store, Its black on one side and white on the other. It was only $6 a sheet! Sure beats paying $17 per sheet for the same plywood..

I've taken the whole console apart and Im currently working with the inner skeleton...Ive also taken the bottom off the "bucket" portion of the console and have began extending it with measured/cut pieces of the Dry-Erase board. Here is one side being adhered to the underside of the inner skeleton.

Also notice the aluminum bar I've attached at the bottom. This will be a mounting point for the drawer.

Using some 1" X 1" wood as framework...liquid nails for added strength.
Here I have almost messed up by cutting the USB outlet hole in the wrong place...

It probably seems abstract and confusing right now but it will eventually make sense. My apologies for my crude explanations...my writing stinks I know.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and on TYF, it's usually a much better explanation. It helps those of us with extra chromosomes if you draw things out with crayons.
