Think I'm trading Yukon Denali for Navigator.

Been waiting for the 2020's to come out to get rid of my current 2016 yukon denali. No news and havent seen anything.
Impressed with the navigator and it beats the denali and escalade in pretty much every aspect. Gm is playing catch up now.


If anyone hasnt seen them I suggest you take a look. A lot nicer than the yukons and escalades.

I seen them, no thanks, they are copycatting the K2s.

The T2 SUVs will come out next year as 2021s.

I have had 12 Escalade's and a Navigator in between, my neighbor has 7 lincoln/ford dealerships, I drove the new Navigator for a week, then purchased a 2019 Callaway Tahoe, could have got a MUCH better deal on the Navigator, NO THANK YOU, rode like a 1968 old caddy deville

I think they look great and the nav black edition is sweet. Not sure I’d go to a suv without a V8 but I’d certainly consider.

IMO, they just couldn’t get the “Ford Ugly” out of ‘em.

A few things I don't like about the Expedition/Navigator...

- The design is only a few years old and somehow it already looks outdated
- The only way to get an actual transfer case (rather than an AWD diff) is to get the FX4 or tow package in the Expedition. I don't believe it's possible in the Navigator

Looked at new Gator before getting our ESV- couldn't get past the exterior. To me- it's the typical "trying to hard to look expensive" look. Look at BMW's and MB's- they don't have to slather on chrome and bits/pieces to make it look prestigious.
The interior is nicer and better features than the current ESV, but I'm sure the new Escalade will look be much better than the Gator.

Go buy one and report back with your thoughts. I looked at them and they are just okay for me but if you like them, give it a try.

I looked at both the Expedition and Navigator LWB. They’re ok, not great. No V8 makes the exhaust note sound like a kitchen appliance. But the deal breaker for me was the very noticeably smaller cargo area behind the ford/Lincoln 3rd row LWB. Compare a Suburban/XL/ESV cargo area to the Ford Max and you’ll see there’s no comparison. And since we (5) like taking road trips, cargo space is king.

Plus, even Car&Driver said the current Escalade drives better than the new Navigator.

Stop talking about that queen, lol, we know you’re getting the new Yukon... You’re a logical person and logic will lead you to the new generation Yukon.

So, at risk of being we have the 2008 Explorer and my Tahoe. The Explorer is almost too stiff in it's suspension, but I do like how it drives. The VVT sure makes it quick for a 4.6 L V8 and it had no trouble pulling a trailer up the CA grapevine.

That said, I prefer the relative simplicity of the pushrod v8. I'm not a big fan of Ecoboost either. It's expensive technology to fix.

Probably. Not a fan of the Ford V6 and the MBGL550 I’m worried will be a maintenance suck (and the dealer is 30 mins from me). Though I gotta say, my wife’s E series was completely trouble free for 5 years.

No other real competitors unfortunately.

I have a current gen 2016 Explorer Sport and it definitely doesn't drive like a minivan, far from it actually. I love my Tahoe and Denali truck, but the Explorer is a blast to drive especially now that I have a 5star tune. My tuned 6.2 barely hangs with it till 70mph, after that the Explorer leaves the 6.2 in the dust. Top end on that Ecoboost is crazy when it's tuned. I am not a GM or Ford fanboy by any means, I'm just a car enthusiast and will drive anything at least once, lol.

I was simply talking ride-wise, not power. The current gen explorer sits on a 20 year old Volvo derived setup. To me it feels like a minivan vs a bouncy truck. I like the feel of it frankly.

But if you were to tow or go off road, which would you choose? The unibody or the one with the full frame?
