At least til Friday night's Test-N-Tune!


So I went to the track last night.....

Need mucho fuel tho only did a few launches, they were filming some street car crap figured I'd draw a few crowds :D
Ran a couple mid 12s...at 85mph

All was fine, got up this morning at the crack of 11am got some lunch, tries doin a little test and tuning of my own. Ac didnt work , popped hood shredded belt so I cut it out.
Made a few changes, went out and it ended up throwing the accessory belt :(
got a little warm 250* waiting on tow at the moment. Put belt back on. Right where the belt tensioner is is where turbo outlet is. I think the housing turned enough to hit the tensioner the way the pipes are it wants to "straighten out", pulley on the tensioner is ruined, coolant is all gone out of the reservoir, it's not in the oil that I can tell from dipstick. Going to pull the plugs and turn over when I get home. May have just turned it all to steam it was pretty much straight water wouldnt have to get very hot to do so

Basically that area...the housing wants to straighten out the 90 coupler but it rotates instead. but I dont think that's enough to hit the tensioner, think it may have thrown the belt and make tensioner to be closer anyway

and it didnt lose much water, boiled it all out of the reservoir but only took maybe gallon and a half to top off (using small mustang reservoir, prob less than a gallon capacity in it)

topped off coolant, shit started right up.....dunno imma just ignorantly beat it till she dies

ill be glad when i never have to make up another braided an line :banghead: so many bloody pokes

fuel system is under way, I need a handful more fittings to get finished up... was hoping to cut a hole in the fuel tank this weekend but may wait. It amazing how little room there is under there to mount stuff, Im going to sump it in the back. I mounted the pump on the welded crossmember that runs across in front of the tank at the bottom pre-filter going in line where the tank strap is (tucks up nicely there) the hose will stay below the bottom of the tank till it hits the pump. pump and post filter mounted back to back on the crossmember, then hose turns up to engine bay with check valve as close as i could get. will probably be wired to the lowest hobbs switch i can find (1-3psi hopefully)
putting a check valve on the stock pump feed after flex fuel sensor into the regulator. will run from regulator to stock fuel rail with 8an.
ordered new tensioner/pulley, ac belt, handful of ptfe fittings, fuel pressure gauge for at the regulator, small hose for the boost reference.

new ac stretch belt installed - installed with tool cause i tore up the other one doing it without it

i just bought an entire tensioner/pulley and threw it on with green belt, only pulley was bad but figured it couldnt hurt.

to deal with the turbo housing spinning: im not sure if this is really even an issue - i took the whole cover off to put turbo drain back on and it's possible i just didnt have the clamp to the center section completely tight. so i may make a couple indicating marks on it and keep an eye on it. if needed i may just get a small expansion pin to locate the cover to the center section.

fuel system - a little more done, fittings should be here in a couple of days, like 10" of crap from the stock fuel line>flex fuel sensor>QDC fitting>union>check valve>regulator. need to make a easy L bracket for the regulator to mount to, moving the catch can and remount it, the return line has a nice spot to leave a little extra hose so i have that entire hose made up with some slack. soon as fittings show up i can make up last feed hose and locate the sump - i know i should start at the sump and work my way out but it just worked out to where i could complete 10% of it and be short a fitting or do 90% and be short a fitting

I'm pretty laid back, not many things get me shook, but drilling a 3"hole in my gas tank took a bit to get hyped up for lol
Secured the hoses to the outer shield (not shown) first pics look like they're close to driveshaft, second pic shows how much room there is between. will do something a little more permanent eventually. the "wet" looking around the sump is some petroleum jelly - wanted to make sure that o-ring could seat and not drag the tank, it is actually kinda rough.

bunch of boring theory i have for making this all work:

"integrating" an auxiliary fuel system isnt just going to hook up and work seamlessly. I will probably be messing with pressure in the fpcm and on the manual regulator for a while until i can find a happy place to set everything up.

with the fpcm base pressure is 43psi, when needed (high load) it ramps pressure up to 58psi and then does some tapering off as you get higher in the rpm. which is all programmable. I wanted to keep it this way cause i do intend to cruise this thing when all the bugs get worked out and dont want to hear a huge pump whining the whole time.

got everything plumbed in, took a short drive (needed to put gas in it anyway) using just the stock pump. with the regulator set above 43psi fpcm doesnt even know its there - good start

i just need to wire in a trigger for the aux fuel pump relay, so its not "finished" up just yet. it'll get a bypass switch anyway so i may throw that in to control it now. i have a hobbs switch on the way to trigger the relay low psi in boost. I think setting the fpcm slightly above the regulator pressure would work the best. ie- 55psi on the regulator and 58 on the fpcm or something like that.

im worried if i set the regulator pressure higher than the fpcm that it will overpower the stock pump (which now has a check valve) so i wouldnt log my fuel pressure accurately. (sensor is halfway down the truck on stock line)

Wow. This ***** is going to eat some fuel, and scoot. Sounds good man! I understand the theory, but yeah, you need some cajones to build that! Nice work!
