Nice. If that happens you definitely need to get pics! Just so we can all laugh at that moron![]()
Definitely will. And it sticks out of the hitch a good 6" too. I'll have to get some pics of it for ya.

I bet that would suck if you tripped on it and hit your shin!Definitely will. And it sticks out of the hitch a good 6" too. I'll have to get some pics of it for ya.

My backup cam is mounted dead center of the plastic cover pads on my rear bumper. It looks directly over my the ball on the hitch. I love it for hooking up to the boat trailer. So much easier.Yeah it will leave a mark, I am sure a few people walked away from it cursing. I have my backup camera tack welded to it for lining up the boat trailer ball so I mentally try to avoid it ahead of time.

It’s the camera that came with my clarion NX405 headunit. It’s just a little square camera with a small mounting around the base of it. The shop just screwed it into the plastic pads on my rear bumper. But the bumper and tailgate setup on your NNBS is different than mine which is what allows me to have it mounted there. I have that narrow band in the middle of my bumper in the middle sections of the step pad above the license plate because mine is mounted there, instead of up high on the lfotgate like yours, and there’s about an inch gap between those and the bottom of the liftgate. So that camera fits perfect there. Your bumper is different because the plate doesn’t mount there. So where the bumper pad meets the liftgate there now extra room. What do you use? Do you have pics of it? Mine was originally one of those kind that bolted to the license plate bolts. Used to be mounted on my '89 Burb. When I swapped it over to this Tahoe I didn't realize how much higher it sat and I would need a 6" drop hitch. Problem is the plate mounted camera couldn't see the ball, just the top of the hitch. So I took the camera off the bracket and zip tied it to the rear wiper LOL, so it was looking down at the ball. Eventually that one died so I bought another camera that had a metal bracket on it so i trimmed it and tacked it to the top of the hitch looking down at the top of the ball.

I want to get a different cam for my Denali. The one that came on the Tahoe is so much better picture-wise that I got spoiled. Just don’t want to run a new cable so I have to see it there’s a junction near the cam so I dont have to run it all the way up.Haven't had time to update my thread lately. Been working like crazy. My backup cam decided to die... Of course.... Ordered a replacement and AFTER chasing down all the cables, correctly wiring the new camera to my headunit and installing and mounted, the new camera stopped working. I think it's a defective camera. Ugh.... Gotta call crutchfield in the morning. Tech support guy said to take to an audio installer and plug the video cable into something and verify its the camera. I really have no desire to do that. I figure $150 for that between fuel to get down off the mountain to an installer and the expensive labor they'll charge just to verify that. That's a waste of $150 in my opinion. So I think I'm gonna call them in the morning and just tell them the shop told me it's bad. Crutch field already told me I have a 60 day exchange on the camera if it's defective. If I can get them to ship me a new camera then I'll be golden and hopefully not have to pull all the cable and words out from my dash. Time and energy I have not to speed on that if the new camera gets here and I can unplug the camera end of the cable at the adapter. That's way easier. Ill have my answer on that tomorrow.
There should be a junction. It should look like this. Both old camera and new camera I bought have it. Should look something this...I want to get a different cam for my Denali. I know, the one I installed in the Silverado has that junction. I just don’t remember the one in the Danali having one but my memory isn’t that good. There should be a junction. It should look like this. Both old camera and new camera I bought have it. Should look something this...
this end goes up and then splits into the power and ground wires with the video cable plug in at the back of the headunit. And then there’s an adapter that plugs into the other side of this and goes back to the camera.
