I've heard from a couple of people that these are overly complicated and that the buttons on the remote get accidentally pressed too easily. Any feedback on this?

Narco, did you get yours installed yet?

Supposedly there's an easy way to lock the buttons, most people just don't know about it. Hoping to get some feedback from someone with it installed.

Do you need an extra key for this system to work, or does the override interface work without it? I'd have to go to the dealer to get another key if it requires one. One thing I didn't like about my Compustar on my old car was I needed a chipped key embedded in the steering column in order for it to work.....

that sounds about right i'd jump on that price as long as it's a Directed Dealer.I have some buddies who work at some shops and i've heard any where from $150 to $250 with the window module remote start and all the other gadgets to add on

Justdeals18 or whatever they are called from post #1 has them in-stock. However, the coupon code TINA no longer works.

I passed for now. With their ridiculous shipping fee to Alaska it's almost $160. They could send it Priority Mail flat-rate for less then $15.00, but instead they want to charge something like $43.

I wish more people would realize that it doesn't cost more or take any more effort to mail things here. The U.S. Postal Service treats us the same as everyone else, and these flat rates are a really good deal no matter where in the country....and yes, Alaska is in the freakin' country...you send it. Everyone on the internet wants to charge more for no good reason.

/end rant

I'm trying to get one off ebay for less now.

I had mine done today, automation is great. on just about any fob including oem if you stuff your keys in your pocket you risk them getting pressed in by the keys, change or what ever else is in there, I like the vipers, they are slim and lite weight. if you have the smart start you really dont need to carry a fob

XK06--is that right for an '03 Denali??

Alright, so I got mine on eBay for a decent price. Kinda weird, really, cause all the rest on there were $50-$75 more. Not that I'm complaining. And it's being shipped USPS flat-rate for $14.00 to Alaska....the way it should be. None of this $43 for shipping crap.

So, my question: I need the XK06 module for an '03 Denali?

And is that all I need other then install?

Unless you know someone who can do it or have a buddy in the install biz, that's a fair price. I wouldn't complain about that.

Although....

I am also looking for a cheaper install...lol. I just contacted a local guy on my other car forum that does installs for a living. We'll see what deal he gives me.

Thanks, man.

Found one on ebay for $35 and free shipping. Might have to go with that.

I did a double take today because the same site showed up on SlickDeals showing a 5301 (remote start only) for $89. Someone over there said one of their remotes came without the back cover for the batteries. They called the place (or emailed) and they shipped them either a cover or a new remote. Might want to call them.

Then again, the shop you get the install done at will probably have them cheaper and might throw it in. I imagine it's just an LED, nothing fancy.

The 5901 has the LED mounted in the antenna/valet switch module....maybe its in that on the 5701 as well :hmm:

Thats bout what I'll pay w/o the bypass. Location is good too. See if we can get a discount for two installs and we can coordinate it all. Anything to save some cash.
